I'm not a woman but I defiantly feel that this gym culture that has appeared recently is attracting the worst kinds of half-wits. I've always liked keeping fit, but I used to find that the focus of people into fitness was about staying active, limber and in shape.
These days it seems like a bunch of young men (children) are lifting weights for the soul reason of "getting pussy." The fact that this kids think that they need to have an unhealthy degree of muscle, at the cost of overall good health in order to be attractive just shows their deep insecurity and a lack of intelligence and other qualities.
If you're a fun, likeable person you'll have no trouble finding a partner(s). Why not spend all those hours in the gym actually cultivating some amazing life skills like writing music, dancing, making art or learning a new language instead of mindlessly picking things up and putting them down again so as to coax your body into over-producing muscle to prevent you from killing yourself.
I'm not really saying I think all the guys with "dad bod" are great and all the guys with muscle are dimwitted man-children. I just think that unless you're a circus freak, why bother trying to look like one? Put down that iron, pick up a book and thank me later in life when your joints and tendons are still in good working order and your mind remains sharp.

I like that viewpoint.
I would never consider going to the gym not even once. Im in natural 'fit shape' though, perfectly skinny.
But my best friend goes to the gym everyday, i still wouldnt fucking go. He used to be skinny as me now hes got some muscle, but i dont give a fuck.
I spend my time doing other things. Like studying science. And i like that. I have absolutely no worries about my body in the sense of insecurity, but im sure alot do.

I don't really agree. Lifting weights absolutely is good for your body and mind. It just takes like an hour to do a serious workout on 3 or four body parts. That leaves plenty of time for the other things you mentioned. You can do both.
Lifting weights will never be as useful or applicable in real life as martial arts though. Gym rats are almost always all show no go doing real work so yeah, playing sports is definitely better for you than just lifting.

But it takes time to get to the gym, to clean up after, and to leave. That ends up taking alot of time out of every day, even only 1h.
Now martial arts or any type of combat craft, i would totally agree would be an awesome idea. Because your not 'senselessly' lifting and setting, your learning a true body art form. Art of movement, which works out your body, and trains you in combat.

Lifting weights is NOT FUN. That's why it's good for your mind. Doing things that are difficult or that you don't want to do in one area ( weights, rock climbing, fighting) gives you a confident mindset that can be applied to anything.

I never thought id like a man with fatness, turns out i like em' a little fluffy. Of course i'd rather have someone in shape but I dont mind cuddly. I find a man with a sense of humor much sexier than anything else, also having a good job helps.

not sure why you're face palming this. He's correct, working out is VERY meditative. And its a great feeling pushing your body to do things you never thought it could do. Why is the ability to paint more worthwhile than being able to run a spartan race?

I'm not arguing either point. I work out. Lift weights. Climb rocks. Paint. Blow glass. Play music. Write poetry. Well rounded is best. Everything is good and everything is bad

Things don't have to b not fun to be good for your mind. I literally never do anything ever that's not fun I love everything I do and I'm in great shape and mind. The idea that you have to suffer to better yourself is an outdated mindset that is designed to keep us monkeys trapped in the system.
Also rock climbing and fighting are REALLY fun. Like insanely fun. And when you enjoy doing things like that, you will be significantly better at it than the fools who are just suffering to better themselves.
Fuck doing anything you don't want to do.

I think theres a slight miscommunication. Obviously working out, climbing, fighting, etc are fun and release endorphins. But they still suck and hurt, no matter how much you enjoy doing something getting punched in the face will never tickle. Picking up 400lbs off the ground will never "feel good" in the traditional sense. I believe thats that he means by "not fun"
