Trich and pink in monotub

So awhile back I started this monotub and was worried because I used too much water in the substrate but it ended up fully colonizing. There were some quarter size chucks that just refused to colonize so I put the tub into fruiting anyway. Well now I'm seeing two little spots of pink and green about the size of a dime in the tub. Since this came at the time of fruiting would it be safe to just add salt to those areas and keeping the tub till the first flush? I would really like to keep this tub because I wont be able to make another for a year or so. Any advice??

I didn't say anything like that? I only asked why you would put salt on contams as I'd never heard of that before.
I think you're okay for the first flush. if you don't mind those mold spores getting all over your grow area. Beyond that your sub is boned
In the future, if a little piece of substrate won't colonize, just cut it out before you try to fruit it. Never put un-colonized substrate into fruiting conditions.

Ohh thought you were being sarcastic lol, since you have so many posts I thought you heard of it before. But yeah if the mushrooms would be safe to eat I'd defiantly go through with this, since the contams came at fruiting. And yeah next time I do a tub I'll cut out the uncolonized parts. Thanks dude!

use of salt pastes has been referenced here numerous times. Notably by RogerRabbit. I would never fuck around with a moldy tub, but if you don't care about spreading it to your grow are, then a salt paste will work better on the green mold than h202/bleach/alcohol

OK that's great to hear, do you think the mushrooms would be safe to eat though? It was lipstick mold or just something thats pinkish tint on the mycelium and trich but both of them in very small points and I salted those spots.

I have eaten fruits off a tub with trich no problem. The pink mold is a different story as some species produce toxins. If there is no mold on the fruit bodies, and they are cracker dry, I would eat them personally and not worry about it. you are going to have make a choice at your own risk though.
Fusarium can be fairly toxic

Is the mold you're seeing fuzzy or slimy?
You could be fucking around with a type of fusarium, which could literally kill you.

It's neither fuzzy or slimy, its like the mycelium in the certain areas got sunburned and is a slight pink from it. I constantly monitor the tub because I put a clear lid on it, so the spots got salted before they were bigger than a pencil easer head. Maybe if I had let the contam spots grow further they would have shown more characteristics but idk. The pink is a color between the first and third ones on the picture.

By the way thank you guys for all the replies!

Think I'm gonna throw the tub. If it was just green I might have let it slip but since you guys say that the pink stuff could be deadly I'll just toss it. A real shame though because I won't be able to do another monotub for awhile >.< I'll toss it around 10 hours from now unless someone says otherwise.

you're doing the right thing IMO. Not wise to mess around with toxic molds.
