Early morning Panaeolus Cinctulus id request (Minnesota)

Found this baby on my walk home from work yesterday right by a building where they train k9 units

Habitat: grass - thick grass that you can tell was layed maybe a year or two ago. in an area where grass may get fertilized.
Gills: Dark brown, with black spores all over them making the brown hard to see.
Stem: Lighter near the top darkening greatly as you go down the stipe. thin and also hallow but still kinda meaty for its thickness
Cap: When I first picked it, it had a darker brown color around the low parts of the cap and lost that as it lost moister on the walk home. slightly darker tip.
Spore print color: To me it looks pitch black and no brown at all but what do you guys thing?
Bruising: I'm not sure if the darker parts of the stipe are bruising but no Blue cruising was observed.
Location: Central Minnesota, united states.

Definitely looks like an active pan to me, but wait for another opinion!

nice specimen. There are no others?? That is as big a cap as I have seen from grass pans.
I noticed near an animal hospital that the grounds had quite a variety of mushrooms. Also, lots of dog shit. I guess the dogs might actually spread spores from their fur (not the shit).

Wow, cool find. Minnesota eh? Seems like a Copelandia species with that stem bruising like it is.
It's a Panaeolus, you'll need microscopy to know for sure which one. Active, obviously.

Are some Pan Cinct's not active? I soaked mine in lemon juice yesterday and felt nothing. I figured I'd feel something with a handful. Either that or it was because I put them in the oven for 20 minutes at 170, the lowest setting.

You're welcome. Too bad you're eating it, it's a unique find that could be dried and deposited in an herbarium or sent to someone to study. Also that one mushroom by itself won't make you trip at all.

I'm pretty sure they were Cincts. Jet black spore print and the consensus on the Mushroom ID page was Cincts. I posted them here too. Maybe it was because I found them in hay and not dung.

no worries I was just going to eat it with 5 grams of some out door cubes I grew buuuut it is now dry and if you beleive me sending it somewhere for study would be an ideal choice then i would like to further the study of those mushrooms.
