Only because the sheep all listen to the mantra of "don't waste your vote" so they waste it on the repubmocrats. Even if greens, for example, don't win they get more matching funds which makes them more viable. Vote third party or you share the blame for the situation.

Philosophically, I completely agree with you and think, locally, third party non traditional candidates have a much better shot and that's kinda where I focus my political energy.  At the national level, with Presidents, the system is controlled completely by our two party near mafia-like system that gives us our candidates, controls the money and elections rules and ultimately, employes the candidates through the way the fund their campaigns.

We have a business takeover of our government over the last 50 years.  The process is complete.  Voting, at the national level is more a PR management event than a real selection of the best people.  The election process itself prevents great people from getting in and then the people that are in are completely controlled by the parties.

I don't know what the solution is.  The iron grip that business has on our 2 party system is formidable.

I'm wondering why anyone gives a shit anyways? Has anyone looked at world economy the last month. China is fucked Greece is fucked and
Spain and Italy are not far behind. NYC stock exchange went down today saying it was a glitch but that is a BS story.

Not good. JEB and HIlary can sit on it. They are the least of our worries.

I have in three presidential elections … the situation is worse today than it was 12 years ago.  Just saying.

I'm pessimistic that America will even be able make the right choice, I'm pessimistic because I think that the electoral college uses our votes as "suggestions", I'm pessimistic because our Congress is broken, things have become so partison that lesgislation will get killed just to spite the opposing party, I'm pessimistic because special interest and big bussiness have bought our politicians and have rigged the game in their favor, I'm pessimistic because I see hard working people, full time workers, unable to live on their wage.....

I generally try to keep my mind as far from politics as I can, its so negative, and often causes me to become physically sick when I learn about how things are being run....

As for the conservatives , Sam brownback put a bunch of ultra- conservative policy in place in kansas, and Kansas could not repair their roads, their schools closed early for lack of funds, and their poor could not be fed, meaning poor families lost their food-stamps....Kansas had to borrow money from other States.....right-wing policy will destroy America...these conservitives have convinced poor rednecks that they are fighting for them, when they say freedom they mean corporations being freed from regulations and taxes, they don't care about the poor fools who vote for them or their personal freedom....the tea-party was promoting Ayn rand's master-piece of shit "atlas shrugged" where the rich get fed up and leave and the poor are left in despair , it gives the message that to even smile at a poor person will set the world on a path of destruction....they openly promote this, and the poor rally behind them...WHY?

In politics you MUST be able to read between the lines, and the right-wing voters are failing to do this, they will get these scum elected then will be sitting there scratching their heads wondering why the politician is doing nothing to help them and wondering why things are getting worse...immagine Kansas under brownback on a national scale, or the recession of 2008 times ten.

...I'm not very enthused with the democrats either, I know I come down harder on the right, but seriously they are the ones bringing it on themselves.

Ive lost all faith in government, I cant believe that it works as well as it does, but it still makes me sick....

I believe in peace, love, kindness, compassion, and wisdom and gnosis, I have no place in modern politics, modern politics will turn a person like me into an angry pessimistic person, and that's not me at all....

Sanders has zero chance of getting elected.  I don't consider that a "serious" candidate.

Sure he could win. A recent poll between him and Hillary had a single digit difference. Make your case, bro.

On the national level, Hillary up by about 40 points on Sanders.  Maybe he's in single digits in Ohio or New Hampshire but that's not reflecting the national numbers at all.

Don't get me wrong, I like Bernie, but there's absolutely no way he beats Hillary and if he did, the socialism tag just doesn't fly in a national election.

Biden isn't even running. That's 17 points up for grabs. Most people don't even know who Bernie Sanders is. Wait for the debates, things will get interesting. I predict that Bernie will have an upswing come August. Regardless, he's already doubled his numbers.

Clinton isn't about to be gaining any points. She'll only lose points.

Sanders is polling high specifically in places he's visited. As he gets more exposure, he'll gain supporters.

So hitlery is only 1 point ahead?

Biden, the goof of a vp isn't even running yet he is beating sanders. Sanders vs trump would be interesting.

I've stated my position many times. If you can't remember, too bad. I think he is the best dem but will not win the nomination nor the presidency. Start practicing holding your nose with one hand while you vote for hitlery with the other hand.

Will you vote third party and do the country a favor? No, you will weaken when they say the gop is evil and tell you to vote the straight ticket. You will sheepishly do as you are told. I do mean sheep-ishly. Thereby perpetuating the duopoly.

Hillary is more evil than some members of the GOP. Depending on who's on the ballot, I might be swayed to vote Republican, but I don't see anyone worth voting for. I could go with the 'green party', but I don't know anything about their candidate. I do think I would take Rand Paul over Hillary, as strange as that sounds. I think they would be almost equally terrible, but at least Rand Paul isn't a warhawk.

Don't tell me what I would or wouldn't do.

What is she proposing that makes her evil?
