I think a more objective approach than this of educating about guns would make for a safer environment. Order out of chaos and fear seems to be the government's solution to most issues.

Yeah! Much better he chokes, stabs or beats her to death. In the meantime, let's make it so the person being threatened can't go out and get a gun to defend themselves! Yeah!

There's a problem with your position. It affects the law abiding and those with true need. Probably more than the people you seem to think will be stopped by such a ridiculous law.

Liberals seem to be incapable of critical thinking. They're a real danger to our society.

They're also very angry.

Too be fair though... too many conservatives also suffer from both those things.

What with speech codes and zones, plus the micro-aggresion frenzy... not even there.

this is the third time I have seen you use that term, "micro aggression"/"micro aggressive".  What does it mean, anyway?

The new list of verboten terms out of University of California (Berkeley), headed by Janet Napolitano, captures the insatiable appetite for speech regulation. Of course, selecting the most qualified person is considered racist by the libs.

Nowhere have I suggested law abiding citizens should be refused guns.  If the wife bought a gun, a trigger lock, and an ammo safe she could walk right out of Wal-Mart with it.  If the husband had been convicted of domestic violence in the past this should show up in a background check which would prevent the clerk from selling to him.

I'm for stricter gun regulation, not removing guns in general.  As I've said repeatedly I think the later is a pipe dream.

The right hijacking the gun control debate with a straw man and circle jerking.  What else is new :lmafo:

Its ridiculous to ban gun ownership to those convicted of misdemeanors.

The statistics don't clearly show shit.  The NRA has put pressure on congress to threaten to pull funding from the CDC if they even look into the issue.

What we're seeing in AZ is also part of a larger down turn in criminal behavior, probably brought on by the economic recovery.

I'm ignoring the rest of your post as it was based on a false premise.  I've dug into this before and posted the links, probably in this thread.

Concealed Carry saving lives is spin.

How about we look at how gun bans work in the real world instead?  Since you guys are so fond of real world data and liberal ideas fall apart when applied to real fucking life :lmafo:

Bullshit, we ban driving from people convicted of misdemeanors.  Banning violent criminals from owning deadly weapons makes perfect fucking sense.

No we don't, unless it happens to be drunk driving or the state passed some politically correct crap type law

Felonies are already a ban. You would put a kid caught with a joint in the same category.

Not all violence is a felony and yes I was referring to drunk driving.

I'm not saying people should lose firearm rights forever anymore than we take people's driver's licenses away forever.

And I don't have all the answers.  But this is the conversation me and many of my friends want to be having.

The GOP and NRA are pushing a straw man argument and it's really colored a lot of people's perceptions of liberal values.  Many of my friends own guns.  I don't.  I have mental health problems and so do some of my kids.  It would be irresponsible of me to have a gun in the house at this point in time.

I'm not in a thread starting mood but Trump just had an event in Mobile Alabama that probably topped Bernie's by 10,000 people.

Oooops, Bernie better start writing a platform for woof to brag about. trump is moving ahead faster than we ever imagined. He will throw out the illegals, end anchor babies, build the wall and make mexico pay for it, then he will straighten out china, tariff the hell out of their cheap crap, fix the tax laws so that offshoring no longer makes sense and lower corporate taxes so that other countries base here to take advantage of it instead of the other way around. Jobs will be plentiful again.

Happy days are coming.
