Republicans tell you they are going to fuck the American people over, and they tell you it's for your own fucking good, because they 'need' to spread your tax dollars to their wealthy buddies.

Republican voters are the fucking mindless idiots who actually vote against their own best interest. They are exquisitely vulnerable to the most primitive of human emotions: Greed, hate, and fear.

The Republicans are "stuck" in the old America (1940-1990's), that game is long gone and they have never adjusted as a result.

The Democrats talk a great game, but at the end of the day they are still owned by the same corporate interests that will fuck us over just the same as the Republicans.

Democratic voters are just as stupid, their failure to either recognize or call out the hypocrisy is just as "mindless" in nature.

Frankly the kid has a point.  Cops shoot brown people all the time without any repercussions thanks to the combination of institutionalized racism and the militarization of our 'peace officers'.  Immigrants are also a large part of our work force.  If tomorrow the right wing wet dream of sending them all back was granted, yes, high school dropouts would have an easier time finding jobs, and the U.S. economy would collapse as the rest of the unemployed snubbed their collective noses at breaking their backs for minimum wage.

"the kid has a point"

No he doesn't, he a criminal that's going to be behind bars for a very long time!!

"cops shoot brown people without any repercussions"

The vast majority of police shootings are justified, brown people commit more crime and as a result end up with more interactions with law enforcement.

"US economy would collapse (as a result of deportation of illegals)"

Bullshit, the only thing that would collapse would be tax expenses and high corporate profit margins, the average US citizen would see a big improvement in standard of living. Since you have very little economic study, it's not very surprising you would believe in such nonsense.

It's not 'just as mindless' as voting for Michelle Bachman, or Sarah Palin, or Sam Brownback, or George W Bush (Arguably the worst president we've ever had, and clearly the dumbest). Now they're lining up behind DONALD TRUMP!!! lmao!!! Come on. It's not the same.

I am so tired of false equivalencies. These are not the same. Republicans cry for small government in one breath, and theocratic authoritarianism in the next. Republican voters are the hypocrites on their side, while democratic candidates are the hypocrites.

Sure, Democratic candidates have been hypocrites. Republicans candidates never had to be, because their voters are fucking stupid enough to vote themselves off a cliff!

Democratic voters are not hypocrites, though some (certainly not all) of their candidates are.

"does that mean exactly?"

I'm referring to their economic ideology which is basically "trickle down economics".  It's very obvious that this economic theory really doesn't work today, yet they still preach it.  For the record, behind the scenes BOTH parties are supporters of the same economic policy today- globalization and crony capitalism.

True, the difference is that Democratic voters don't believe this nonsense, and Republican voters do. Politicians do what they have to do, because our elections are based on a corrupt campaign system.

Trickle down economics is simply predatory capitalism.  We have, right now, the results of decades of this ... more wealth and power for fewer people.

Nixon.

Fucking Milhouse and Kissinger deliberately sabotaged peace accords between North and South Vietnam in Paris to guarantee that LBJ would lose the election to Nixon.

A shithead move that cost hundreds of thousands of lives.

So you are talking about obumble now? Syria, yemen, and others. Shrub may have started Iraq but he negotiated a pullout which obumble reversed and kept the war going. Endless indeed.

Plenty of Democrats voted for it. (Clinton, Biden).

Yes, Republicans are mindless for voting for policies that clearly don't work. Democratic and Republican politicians are not equally bad. Clinton left America with a surplus, and Obama is on track to leave us with a surplus also: http://theweek.com/speedreads/455126/obama-track-leave-budget-surplus

Bush left Obama with a 1.3 Trillion dollar deficit in the name of 'trickle down economics'. Don't give me your false equivalency bullshit. One party (Democrats) is fiscally responsible, and one party has a tendency to hemorrhage money (Republicans). It's funny, because Republicans would have you believe that democrats are the big spenders.

Not really.

At least some people, a vocal minority, in the Democratic party are calling for intelligent reforms.

Meanwhile, the highest polling GOP candidate seems to be whomever can be bigoted the most frequently.

Obama was promising the earth, moon, and sun, how did that empty rhetoric work all for the disadvantaged.

I mean if rhetoric that ends in tears is all you want at the end of the day, keep supporting that very small "vocal minority" and watch the status quo continue as they laugh their way to the bank.

No. It's not necessary for illegals to do the work. Bring workers in legally on worker visas. Or, raise the pay to the point where Americans will do it.

Better that the pay goes to Americans and the money stays here.

Or do think the following would happen...

Farmer 1: Damn... I can't get enough workers now that the illegals are gone.
Farmer 2: Yup, I guess now we'll have to pay more to get our crops harvested.
Farmer 1: Fuck that! If I can't get illegals to pick my crops I'm gonna let the crops rot in the fields. That'll show them pesky government people they can't push me around!
Farmer 2: But your crops will rot and you'll go bankrupt.
Farmer 1: Yeah... that'll show those government jerks!

The loony left wants fast food workers to make $15 an hour telling us it will not cause prices to rise. But, if we pay more money to americans to pick produce, it will magically cause food prices to shoot way up. They need to get their story straight.

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.” (attributed to Alexis de Tocqueville political philosopher Circa 1835)

In California illegal immigrants make up approx. 10% of the workforce.  The unemployment rate is 6.5%.  Assuming we can get everyone that's looking for a job a job we still have a very large gap in the labor force and mostly in the ag industry.

California's ag industry is huge too and an important part of both the u.s. and global economies.  It's not just about tomatoes rotting but processing, shipping, production.  The effect on the supply chain and with it employment seems like a big deal to me.

As a full fledged member of the 'loony left', I 100% agree with LDS on this one. We can pay Americans to do it, or bring immigrants in on work visas. I think the notion that we must rely on lawbreakers to function is pure and utter horse shit. It would benefit the migrant workers as well as the American people.

This is just another instance where government tells you they're doing something for your benefit, when in reality it only benefits big business. Illegal immigrant workers benefit big business, not you and I.
