Honestly Trump's plan amounts to, tap into American frustrations over immigration, become president. That's not really an immigration plan. It's more like, tap into Germany's anti semitism, take over world.
A real plan would be...
Crackdown on employers.
End the drug war so the cartels dry up.
Give foreign aid to Mexico.
Why foreign aid to Mexico? We already have NAFTA ...

Yeah, the Republicans are also bought off by the rich for supporting an open border policy.

Trump can't go ahead and show all of his hand right away. The election is a year and a half away. He'll gradually give more and more details of his plan. Right now he's testist the water with big headline "I'll fix the border with a wall" if it is popular, he'll go in further and further in details on how to solve the problem. The man has been against illegals for decades. Surely he thought of something. Same for all his other big issues.
I wonder when he'll drop the universal health care bomb though. He's gonna have to have his base very secured before he says it and it's his trump card (pun entirely intended). That's how he'll pull the left away fro Hillary. Essentially by going further left than the Democratic party on an massive issue.

Trump is an ass ... having said that, we didn't get to this point with 18 trillion in debt, many more trillions in unfunded liabilities, a massive over reaching military, a government with millions of classified documents produced every week, a massive domestic surveillance program that spies on every single US citizen, a drug policy that is insane, one of the highest murder rates in the developed world and a crumbling infrastructure despite enormous GDP because we have had fantastic politicians in place getting things done.
Is trump better or worse than the cascade of do nothing, promise everything politically correct corporate employee politicians we have now? That's the real question.
One thing I can say for sure, the performance of our current political class over the last 25 years has been absolutely abysmal.

Well, his a doer that actually have management experience and solid asset to show for. The guy has like 6 secrataries to filter his calls because he's a hands on guy that likes to do shit himself.
Politicians have promises and department managers to deal with their shit. I don't even think they right the bills anymore, its their teams that do the heavy work. They are acting the part of leader. But they only say what their politic analyst tell them to say

I've owned two businesses, nowhere near the scale of Trump, but I know a lot about how it feels to be the boss/owner and how people react and respond to directions, orders, objectives, etc. Government simply doesn't work like that. A president must be able to build a cooperative and willing coalition. To form alliances. It isn't about "hey, do it my way because I'm the boss and I pay the bills."
Governing in a representative republic is a completely different challenge and requires very different skills than the bone crushing competitive bare knuckle brawling of real estate development. I find it hard to imagine Trump would have the patience and tolerance for the political process. You can't fire Senators and Governors and other global leaders. You can't control the Supreme Court or the Federal Reserve. You're one of many leaders that have to swallow your pride and accept a lot of compromise. Is Trump that kind of person?

You don't think big business involves working with govt and making compromises? Every project he worked on required permits, approvals, environmental impact reports and other things too. You have this image of him barking orders like a slave driver and telling people they are fired if they don't go fast enough. You already know that doesn't work for small business and it doesn't work for big stuff either.
As for not knowing how to make deals with crooked politicians, that is one of his good points. We've seen too much of that already.

"help Mexico improve their economy"
That's not our responsibility and not our solution to the illegal immigration crisis.
Mexico is always going to be a poor country, we can't fix it. Nobody said deporting millions of illegals would be pretty, but it needs to be done.

The corruption in Mexico's government is epic. About a dozen families have controlled that country for decades and decades and this continues. There is no way that more American aid would even make a dent in helping Mexico and might make things worse. What will help Mexico is fixing our insane drug laws and enforcing IMMEDIATE deportation of illegals picked up on any hint of violence charges.
Wealth in Mexico is compacted into a fewer hands than even here in the US and until that changes, the poverty and problems that generates will get worse. As long as the wealthy prefer an impoverished worker class to keep costs low, then I'd expect the wealth gap to continue to expand and with it, violence and ignorance to increase.

Everywhere you look, it's politicians pushing more and more globalism, cheap labor, bigger banks, more leverage and the risk and eventual debt pushed down to the taxpayer.
They all seem to agree on that, at least the electable ones do.
