Not looking for anything too extravagant, I like to listen to music of course and was gifted a 7th gen Ipod Nano- It's small, 16 gb, nike plus for working out podcast and radio which I think is actually neat. Apart from this and playing music it doesn't really do much and is priced at 150 usd.
As of now I don't have a mp3 player, mine broke sometime ago so I could use both.
I am also one of the few people who still doesn't have a smart phone.
I came across the Microsoft Lumia 640 smartphone, 8gb internal memory though it has a SD slot capable giving me more memory than I would ever use.
The phone retails for 130 usd and may not be the best but has all that I would want, only thing is it's size (which is medium reg), I feel it might be cumbersome to carry around- One of the best features of the nano is that it's so small and portable, looks easy to use while multitasking.
IF I had a good phone I might see it best to keep the nano but seeing as I don't, would the best consumer choice be to get the Lumia instead?
It just overall seems like a better value for the money and has all the things I am looking for in a product. If I want something smaller and more convenient, I could just get an older gen nano for the car or workouts down the line, but I think a phone like the Lumia would be nice for now.
Any other product recommendations are welcomed too.
I really dislike Apple, I know Microsoft is no saint but there are more than a few things I do not like about apple, including their user base.
Here is a comparison between Lumia and apples phone 6.

Nokia/MS 800 series phones are apparently nice; I understand the 600 series suffers from some software glitches now and then (crashes during calls), but they're probably fine for your purposes.

If you don't mind a relatively smaller hdd where you would have to change the files out occasionally (Depending on what file format you use and how much music you have) this is probably good.
