Good strain for Mycobags!
    #2189162 - 12/19/03 01:24 AM (13 years, 7 months ago)

I was wondering what strain would be potent and have good yield with a grain or straw Mycobag. Thanks

Cubes are cubes.. they should all do fairly well regaurdless.. Yet my friends personal favorites are equador becuase hes noticed they are fast colonizers, but he also likes GT becuase they germinated very fast and colonize equaly fast.

EQ's, Cambodians, and GT's always colonize the fastest IMO. I tried the South Africans for the first time this past run and they colonized the fastest out of 7 different strains. Best of luck.

I've seen Cambo, Eq, PR and GT, the only ones I havent seen do well in the bags were PR, but those damned ricans just dont seem to like me, millions of pins and small fruits none matured for printing. GT did well but not to their full potential. one of the EQ were well above a normal size, 11inches long, didnt have a scale to weigh it, the average size was about 8-9 inches and they were prolific fruiters on popcorn as were the cambo

you could equally ask 'what strain would be potent and have good yield with a grain myco-jar?' - a bag is just a container for the myc to safely grow on the sterile substrate, just like a jar. the answer, in both cases, is pretty much any strain of cubensis - it's definitely the easiest species to start growing mushrooms with.

I would have to say B+, I know from experience, potency of these were very well, and they grew fast. Huge Yield.
