Hello,
We are 90% sure we have found some Psilocybe subaeruginosa but since it has been 20 years since we've seen one would love to get a confirmation. It has also been unusually dry in my part of the world so these were quite a surprise to find (if they are what we think they are).
Thanks in advance
Habitat: found in sheltered area mixed pine, eucalyptus, grass rocks about 5m from small stream and 1m from big pile of rotting pine. Ground cover pine cones / needles but mostly dry eucalyptus leaves and grass.
Gills: light brown / gray.
Stem: reasonably tall, thin, slightly tough, solid.
Cap: 2-3cm across, brown - lighter brown towards edges, smooth, nipple shape.
Spore print color: Black - purple

Bruising: Blue to black on stem and edge of caps. Some went to black after arriving home (about 2 hours after picking).
Other information: Slight mushroom scent, were growing about 10-20cm apart, some in pairs. Only found in one particular part of this area (about 40m square).
habitat..

in the ground..

our pick..
  different camera..

I will edit with the spore print when I get it, I imagine overnight for that?
Cheers!

A couple of those look a little dodgy to me, but i'd say majority of it are subs, cool looking ones too. wait for a TI.

I am so So jealous of all of you capable of finding psilocybe mushrooms! :-( only active around me is Panaleous cinticulus...and those are boring/weak..lol. I lived in Florida fifteen years ago, but didn't know anything about mycology...I had eaten cubensis, but wasn't aware they were growing all around me. I guess what I'm trying to say though my ramblings...is don't take hunting (for active) for granted...I still love looking for edibles...but I don't have a very diverse edible selection around Here either.
