I've had success with micropore before but the fruits looked just like yours. Kinda long and thin. Not enough airflow I guess.

Alright then, picture this if you will:
10 to 2 AM, X, Yogi DMT, and a box of Krispy Kremes, in my "need to know" post, just outside of Area 51.
Contemplating the whole "chosen people" thing with just a flaming stealth banana split the sky like one would hope but never really expect to see in a place like this.
Cutting right angle donuts on a dime and stopping right at my Birkenstocks, and me yelping...
Holy fucking shit!

you should just remove the micropore tape from a few of the holes. they obviously aren't getting enough FAE

do you think poking a few holes in the micropore tape would help with FAE better than just removing it altogether?

No one is going to make fun of you. Its everyone's goal here to help each other.

You should try to use pollyfill next time, maybe you have a old pillow you can use? You can find it at walmart for really cheap for a fuck ton of it.

Congrats on the first grow! Now you know what to do refine your skill and move up to a monotub!

Thanks.
Yea I have a monotub, but wanted to figure out how to do it well on a smaller scale first.
Im going to still use that lil tub but add 2 more holes and use polyfill next time.

The mycelium and fruits appear to be quite healthy, although it is obvious that they could do alot better.
I used corn grain and coco coir, next time (what i have on the way) im going to do 3 foil trays of popcorn/horseshit and straw, and 1 rye grain/horseshit and straw. Maybe Ill even add some coco coir in with it.

Ok, so 1 of the tin foil trays has Trichoderma contamination in one corner.

The substrate/mycelium itself still looked decently healthy, and had begun to pin massively on the opposite side of where the contamination was.
I removed this tin foil tray into a large pot which holds an Aloe plant. I burried the substrate a couple inches under the soil/verm and kept the are where its pinning (probably a quarter or two in diameter) above the soil. Or access to the air, at soil level.

This pot is sitting outside where temperature is fine for cubes.

When I lifted the substrate off of the tin foil tray, in the corner of contamination, there was green Trichoderma on the tin foil itself and the entire corner of the sub from bottom to top was battling it.

I must have caused this by misting the outsides of the substrate and the water had nowhere to go but sit between the tin foil and the substrate underneath, building mold.
Next time I will remove the substrate from the tin foil trays when I begin to fruit.

I hope the contaminated substrate continues to fruit! It appears that it will ( I dont think Trichoderma can continue to grow/thrive/expand while no access to air?)

The second tray appears to be fine but it may also be contaminated. We will see.
Lesson learned, and I hope others here also can learn from my mistake: ONCE BEGIN TO FRUIT, REMOVE SUB FROM TIN FOIL TRAYS

It's the oppsosite man. Trich likes no air movement and moist places. A monotub is the perfect place for trich. You want plenty if fresh air flow for myc to win again trich.
