Tattoos. And covering tattoos you already have.
    #21889339 - 07/02/15 06:17 PM (8 years, 6 months ago)

What do you guys thinks of them, I love them but only have one. And it was a spur of the moment, I want to be like everyone else and be cool type of thing back in highschool. And what I got I now can't stand because it was rushed and in no way is a representation of anything I like or care about.

It's on my upper left shoulder and a few friends of mine have a bunch and say that if I found a good enough guy, I can tell him things I'm in and he'd be able to draw out a design based on the things I stated and even be able to go over it completely or ingrain it into the new tattoo making it look like I never had a different on in the first place.

Anyone ever get tattoos covered up with other tattoos, did it turn out alright? Was it what you wanted or did you have to settle because you just preferred it more than what was there. I'm thinking of getting a half sleeve covering my shoulder and most of the way down to my elbow. Been considering it for a long time now, basically since a few months after I got the first one.

It's not that I don't like tattoos or anything like that, I was just dumb and rushed the one I got without thinking about it and hate this particular one.

Make sure you drop some good cash and find an absolutely amazing artist. Cover ups can be quite difficult

I have no tattoos yet

One day I want to have insanely intricate psychedelic sleeve tattoos but that's not gonna be for many years most likely

Just don't.  They are a stupid idea and invariably look stupid.  Maybe a small tribute to somebody who you lost in an inconspicuous place but as far as I'm concerned there is no such thing as a tattoo artist.  They are vandals preying on idiots.

Aspiring tattoo artist here.

I guess everyone is entitled to their opinions. To me, tattoos and body modifications are the most sacred of art. They show that the human spirit is willing to sacrifice pain to express an idea, and willing to make the commitment of wearing it for the rest of his/her life.

I have half inch gauges on both ears and several tattoos, including a sleeve to my wrist in my left arm. Before you ask, I'm an accountant. People are beginning to accept tattoos in professional settings now.

If you're looking for a good cover up, I recommend you research a good artist. Look up the next tattoo convention in your area, that way you don't have to travel far. If you can't afford it, just put a big 'X' over the tattoo and write 'shit happens' next to it!

That's a pretty closed minded way of looking at body art

Covering tattoos is tricky business. It completely depends on the size/colors of the tattoo you want to cover up.. I know a couple tattoo artists. It takes a very skilled artist to cover up another tattoo and do it well, and a lot of times it involves a much larger tattoo with a lot of dark colors. So, depending on the size and nature of the tattoo in question, you are probably looking at several thousand to get a skilled artist to do it. You really don't want to get a scratcher to cover a tattoo.. then you'll have two shitty tattoos on top of each other. So you really need to find a true professional tattoo artist and those are $$$

And anyone who gets tattoos will regret it? Pfft

That's the beauty of it gentlemen, even though you may regret it, it will remind you of the journey you've been through. I can guarantee that almost everybody that gets a tattoo, at one point stops and thinks about their future. Its a risk you have to be willing to take, and that in itself, adds tremendous value to that stain under your skin, that peice of flesh given away to the eternal expression of your soul.

I didn't want to say what it was because it REALLY shows how dumb I am...I got a flowery leafy cross type of tattoo, and I am not religious and was not raised religious:facepalm:

If I could go back I wouldn't get one, but I'm stuck with this one and I truly hate it, it's awkward as fuck when someone who I'm not close with sees it and asks me if I'm religious and it gets awkward because I'm like "oh well uh nah not really it's just not just my thing" and then simultaneously explain why I got a cross then.

All because I got one and didn't even think about the cross and just thought it looked bad ass or something dumb at the time, and now I just want to get something over it or something that at least makes a little sense.

And everyone I know who says it can be covered, hasn't even got it done, so I can't see whether it still looks good after.

What's close minded about it?  I think it's fucking stupid.  I've seen people with regret and I'v seen older people with faded wrinkled tats They look awful. I did not come to that conclusion over the last two months.  Body art, what bullshit.  Paint a fucking wall instead of drilling ink into an idiot's skin.  I don't even wanna the people with giant plates in their ears.  "Oh look at me look at me."  Why don't you put a plate in your lip?

What the hell kind of question is that? My tattoos have nothing to do with my intelligence.
