Monotub only pinning along perimeter, why?
    #21887878 - 07/02/15 01:12 PM (8 years, 6 months ago)

Note, I don't mean side-pinning between the sub block and wall of the tub. But this 1 tub I have has pins on the surface all along the sides, within 2 inches of the wall of the tub. But the entire middle is pin-free.

Does anyone know why that happens or how to correct it so the sub pins evenly? My guess is it must be the correct RH near the sides, and maybe the center is too dry or too humid. But idk whether to dial it up or down.

The water dripping down the sides of your tub is keeping the perimeter hydrated better than the center? Are you using a liner?

Yep, using a liner. The fruits are all on top. That's my only guess too is the walls have condensation so maybe that's giving the sides a nice climate.

Maybe so. Is your climate dry? Maybe try a thin casing next time.

You mean kinda like: ?

This happened because of over hydration due to too much misting. It pinned where it was moist not wet. Are you misting? Most tubs should be a set and forget due to amazing hydration.

Also try a casing if you're mist happy like me, as grey mentioned. It's pretty damn hard to over mist a casing

Hmm doesn't look quite like that. I haven't misted it at all. There's no droplets on the surface anymore so I'm leaning toward too dry in the middle.

Took a pic:
