Spores Stuck in Syringe Cap

Hello all,
I have a spore syringe and the spores are all stuck in the luer lock cap.

I tried shaking the heck out of it and tapping it etc... and they will not budge.
Not sure how to handle this.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Perhaps you could sterilize a small amount of water in a pint jar, then shoot the spores stuck in the cap into the jar( in a SAB), shake the jar well, then suck it back up. That's the only way to get them out without exposing the syringe to contamination by tried to poke them out. Good luck!

Hold a flame to the needle point and draw air in.

Thanks much. I think this is about the best shot I have at getting them out and into a stable solution.

Interesting, but as you're drawing air in, wouldn't the heat from the flame be sucked in as well and destroy the spores that are in the needle?

No, you'd be drawing in sterile air, which you then use to shake up your syringe. PF tek 101
Don't worry about the spores in the syringe anyways, there are millions and millions in your syringe, whether you see clumps of them or not.

So true, if the needle isn't actually clogged then there shouldnt be an issue. Im sure theres plenty already in suspension.

I've used syringes where I didn't see any black specks floating inside and still got fast growth.

Thanks for the input.
In the end I got the syringe out and was resolved to squirt some sterile water into the cap but decided to tap on it for a bit with a pair of scissors first and low and behold it all finally came loose.
