So as the title spoils I'm going to be sailing around Alaska. I'm going toabsolutely love this Alaska has been a dream to sail for a while for me . I've been depressed lately but this should cheer me right up. I'll going to several ports in the process and we will be paying for some very cool activities. We were going to take carts out but I have no drivers licence atm so I can't do cart riding.
We will be accompanying a scientific research vessel to observe underwater wildlife, sounds bitchin I love marine biology. I'm the one who is supposed to find "excursions through princess cruise lines" and that shit is hard to do.
I only found that so far, a few interesting Alaskan rain forest excursions but if any Alaskan shroomites can recommend some things for one day activities
I will be docking in Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway and Victoria BC . If anyone has any tips please fill me in .
I will have some psychedelia power with me so that should be epic as all hell. I will one day report on that but I will try and update while I'm there.

I live in Victoria, theres lots of cool stuff on and around vancouver island depending on where u can stop. You have a prestablished schedule to stick to and everything I assume? If not, Hornby Island is awesome, though its pretty far from vitoria. What kind of outings are you looking for, mainly nature based ones?

Not actually overly familiar with the west coast, so not a lot of insights.
But reading your thread made my kind of ponder, so googled Victoria BC excursions and got a few sites.

http://www.cruisecritic.com/ports/newport.cfm?ID=28
http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/shore-excursions/port/28/
http://www.tourismvictoria.com/things-to-do/tours/
Not sure how long you will be docked or anything.
Was originally going to say that if it were me, would probably do the whale watching and float plane, but then did a quick search on your other stops.
http://www.shoreexcursionsgroup.com/Ketchikan-Shore-Excursions-s/104.htm this lists packages that include whale watching at the Juneau port.
Would quite likely consider doing the whale watching there instead and taking one of the city or garden tours in Victoria aside from the floatplane.
Probably just made for more of a confusing mess than a meaningful contribution Do hope you have an excellent trip though.

I feel like most people go to Victoria to pretend they are in London, or at least, not in Canada.

Are you in BC? My favourite print of all time is still coming out of there..
It's an unperforated I-Ching print with the poem on the back. Any acid from the Canadian crew running the blotter with a poem on the backside is beyond excellent. I've had 3 different sheets from them and all had the same poem on the back. All from BC.

Yeah I'm looking for some nice nature excursions, something very Alaskan ,something with bears, deer, fish, birds ya know nature . I think I have at least 1 day at each port, when I go to Victoria I was thinking about just doing some drinking and seeing historical sites and such.I'm also open to live music or anything else recommended by shroomites with experience there. I'd love to take acid on this trip but something tells me I won't find it while I'm with my family.Quote:

Thanks man I'll definitely check all these links. I'm trying to figure out whether to do a few excursions for several hundred dollars each or to do a whole bunch of small excursions . I'd absolutely love going on a floatplane but it's upwards of 400$ a person.
This is going to be fucking awesome.Quote:

Yeah I thought it was kind of weird the travel agent didn't provide those things. Basically he told us what to search on google and let us loose. I feel so blessed to be taken on this trip, I'm 21 y/o but since I work for my family they are paying for everything. Easily going to be a 10k+ trip but it will be quite worth it.

Im from vancouver, Victoria is OK, but I enjoy travelling up the east coast of the island. Lots of handcrafted native carvings and artwork, lots of trails, caves and scenery. The food (especially seafood) is fresh and excellent.

See that all sounds amazing, say I came into port in Victoria, we were planning on getting the express ride to "the city" for 10$ a head I think. From there how would ya'll recommend I get about the place to see the most I can of it?Cab,bus or other?
Also can you guys recommend some good eatery/breweries,museums,historical sites, cool landmarks or places I shouldn't miss? Artwork, caves and things sound awesome but I'm not sure if I can get there from my port or how long it would take to get there. Then again I don't know squat about the geography, maybe I can visit those places

10 bucks isn't bad for express into the city. Victoria has a decent museum, good food and breweries. Actually has a South Park Elementary too (lol) I'd play it by ear or ask some locals what they recommend. Its a very touristy town so there will be information booths and brochures in all the hotels.

Nice, realistically this is probably exactly what I will do as per usually when I travel abroad.Quote:
