Aluminum and Agar

I am about to dive into agar and I have a few ideas which I would like to test along the way. One of them involves agar and agar cultures on aluminum. I have read aluminum is problematic for containing active mycelium but I am curious if you are think it would be an issue with a less active agar culture. Opinions and experiences welcome.

I just want to know if there are problems doing agar in an aluminum container. I have what I think could be a useful idea that I want to test.

I've heard that mycelium can eat through an aluminum container over time. I'm not sure about agar, it's worth a try though. Good luck!

Mycelium eats through aluminum after many flushes. It wouldn't eat through it on agar. However why the hell would you do agar on aluminum? What are you planning? A non pour or a pour method? Also how would you be able to monitor it? Aluminum isn't see through.

Also the bottom of my still air box is definitely not clean. My scalpel would go right through the foil and touch the bottom of the sab as I cut a wedge to take a transfer. I think glass or plastic is the best shit to use.

Have faith guys. I will test this idea and report back but rest assured that each of those problems you mentioned have already been addressed and solved. I've built everything from buildings to micro electronics so I hope I can use that experience to contribute to this forum. I do however like to vet my ideas before I share them to avoid others running into problems I could not forsee.
This project is a go. Thanks guys
