HPPD (Lasting Effects Of Psychedelics)

Hello!,
I've decided to write a post about HPPD (Hallucinogen Persisting Perception Disorder). Obviously a large majority of the members most likely have this, personally I love every part about it, it makes me feel unique and different knowing that I can see things others can't. I've had noticeable HPPD ever since I first dropped acid, and I've had it explained to me in a number of ways and I've certainly thought about it a lot, since it's always there.
I don't know where to start with this, I guess the most common/persistent symptom I have is visual snow, I'm sure everyone reading this already knows about visual snow so I won't elaborate.
Second most prominent, are open eyed full blown hallucinations, ranging from minor to major. All I have to do is stare at something longer than a few seconds and it will start to bend, roll, vibrate, wave, and all the rest. Another thing is how light and shadows are for me, any sort of shadow or lighting on a wall or surface will always be moving and rolling, not into any particular shape, just forever moving, same deal with the ground, also while I'm staring, depending on the lighting in the room, the entire rooms color can change in my peripheral vision.
Another thing related to open eyed visuals, is the way I see and react to light. I'm now much more sensitive to bright lights than I was before, I usually have to squint or cover my eyes if I'm walking when the sun's out. I can also see auras around every lit up object, or a color spectrum or rainbow of sorts around most lights. I actually do have a pretty funny story tied to these as well, when I was taking Science, my teacher turned some kind of special light on for the class, then handed out these little sheets of plastic that you were supposed to look through at the light, and see a rainbow/color spectrum. Funnily enough, I could straight up see the color spectrum without holding the plastic over my eyes, I ended up telling that to the teacher which promptly weirded him out.
Now, the last thing I experience, and the thing which really does confuse me. Darkness, whenever I enter a dark room my vision changes from the hallucinations I see everyday to almost full blown trip visuals. It seems that at least for me, being in the dark kicks my visuals up x10. I haven't found anybody with that same experience quite yet and It's the thing I wonder about the most, the best way for me to explain the visuals is like this, every one of my ceiling tiles blends together and then moves like a magic carpet in flight. The logical theory is that there is less for my eyes to focus on so the visuals are stronger, but I've also woken up out of a sleep hallucinating as hard as I would be if I dropped acid, lasting for only 30 seconds.
There are also closed eye visuals but I don't really need to get into those. I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced similar things

HPPD traumatized me. probly cuz i saw it as a bad thing. u should check out HPPDonline.
peoples lives have been basically ruined due to mental illness. depersonalizatoin anxiety depression panick attacks. basically PTSD.
Then I got on this website and realized that HPPD is only as bad as one makes it.
people are literally living in complete hell their whole lives ......
My HPPD has gone down alot. i only have static and occasional faces now. I dont know if I will quit all drugs for like a year to see if i will get "fully healed". cuz I dont wanna be like those people.
IDK if its their attitute towards it or if the condition really causes brain fog and things like that .
people are literally having panick attacks every day. like full acid trips.
How do drugs affect ur HPPD?
I look on HPPD threads alot. because i wanna know alot about it ... i mean i have it and it like traumatized me for the past 8 months and i just am finally over the mental illness since yesterday...

Yeah man, I'm the same way. The way I looked at it was the way I would look at tripping on LSD or Mushrooms, in a very positive way. Just like life, it's only as good as you can make it.

Its where u like zone out all the time like a braindead idiot. brainfog. i think its a protective barrier the brain makes for anxiety

Yeah, I've had that many times before. I had it for an entire week recently after doing a Molly three times in a week, it's not persistent for me though. It usually only lasts for a few days after I do a drug.

I normally get it from doing Acid or Molly in large dosages, not so much acid but more Molly. I would call it some sort of HPPD, for Acid yes, as for Molly it depends how much you do, if you stick to a low dose you won't be braindead for a day or two. You can get depersonalization from pretty much any drug if you do a lot of it. (I experienced depersonalization for an entire week for doing MDMA & MDA) MDA being more on the psychedelic side and causing most of the depersonalization)

on he subject of the MDxx style drugs, dont forget the whole thing about your serotonin levels being boosted through the roof and your brain needing time to make more for you to experience things "as usual"
now im no scientist but hppd i believe is just your ol crusty brain thats used to every day life seeing some newfangled visions and it being somewhat overwhelmed... So basically, A is introduced to C after forever looking at B. A then goes back to looking at B A can now tell that C is there, just beyond B. The questtion is does A realize C has always been there? OR HAS HE? OR WAS THE WHOLE ALPHABET JUST A FIGMENT OF THE IMAGINATION?
THE POINT IS I love you goodnight

Yup, my serotonin levels have been all over the place the past year, I use 5-HTP as what I would like to think to be a natural serotonin replacement and it actually works pretty decent for those days after doing MDMA.
I've got multiple theories on HPPD and yours just so happens to be one of them, and an interesting one at that. Psychedelics definitely changed my brain a lot.

Ever since i started doing mushrooms within the last year, my whole world has been WEIRD. Like OP said, i get pretty wild hallucinations in darkness. I was biking down my dirt road surrounded by trees once at midnight with no moon out and I kept seeing light trails and moving blobs all over the place. I often see "things" moving out of the corner of my eye. I usually think that they are just small animals, but sometimes there is a mental noise associated with the movement. Also, i have been rather depersonalized around other people. It feels as though i am not really talking to them sometimes because i either do not care what they have to say one bit, or because my mind just doesn't have the ability to concentrate during conversations for a long period of time. IDK but ever since doing shrooms, I've realized what a suffocating environment i have been in and continuing to live with my parents and brother is forming my brain into robot-mash-potatoes.

exactly.
its because the people we live with are insane, meaning mentally ill, so we turn insane because we are sane. does thAT make sense?
i finally solved the puzzle after 10 months.
the psychedelics obviously just opened our subconscious, thats what they do.
cheers, Mark

Holy fuck did we find a BC puppet?

What makes you come to the conclusion that because you have this, the majority of users do?
