Layout for a garage grow operation
    #21885657 - 07/01/15 11:27 PM (8 years, 6 months ago)

hey guys,

How would you lay out a small commercial mushroom farm in an approx 24x24 garage? The location is Penticton BC, semi arid, hot in summer and winters are generally hovering around freezing. I'm thinking lab/inoculation room, with the rest of the space for colonization and fruiting. All input is welcome,
Thanks a million

Your idea sounds good if you can keep it warm enough in winter. Remember that convection style heaters like radiators are best since they dont blow dry air around.

I would arrange it into quarters.  But it depends on what you want to grow.  I would do 2 12x12 grow rooms.  Have one colonizing and one fruiting, then switch it up and clean the grow room and put the incubation room into fruiting mode.  Saves having to move substrate around.  I would have a 12x12 area for substrate prep, though it may be better outside speaking from experience.  And a 12x12 space for lab if you insist on having one.  All these might be 10x10 so you can have insulation or walking space!
