Going to inoculate two jars of oats with PE cornmeal wedges today or tomorrow.

Hell yeah man. Mush love. If you give em a good shake, they'll colonize pretty fast.

I was hoping they'd break apart more. I ended up doing four jars of AA+ from one plate and tiger dropped two plates of Mexicana.
Neither is technically for the sept grow.
The PE is a bit behind so going to give it another day to colonize.
I'm going to try cutting my cornmeal ratio back. I used 4 tablespoons for 1 cup of water and I think it was a bit too stiff. I'd like for the cornmeal to be solid enough to work as agar but still loose enough that it will fall apart with a good shake.

take some nutes out of your recipe

hm. I was always using premixed FP stuff before, but I'm gonna try out regular agar with added mea for the first time this week. I'll have to try that.
I'm down to like 3 sectors or so per plate though.
thanks for the tip

Well, mine were pretty stiff to start, but once the mycelium colonizes a layer of mush it kinda detached from the rest. At least for me they did. A few that were tiger dropped left some mush in the container. I left them alone and eventually re-colonized the leftover mush.
Even though it doesn't look broken up, it could have still left inoculation points. The smaller points seemed to take a day or two longer to recover once initial signs of recovery from the shake were shown. Hopefully that's the case for you.
Mush plate still firm for tiger drop.

Initial signs of recovery after the shake.

Even more points of recovery a few days following initial recovery.
They moved along pretty fast once all the mycelium recovered.
Keep us posted though. (Maybe in Psilo's tortilla tek thread, so as not to derail this one too much. my bad)

Well then you guys need to make the brilliant modification put forth by Tahoe to your All American (if that is what you are using). You CAN'T run your PC dry when you swap the jiggler for a pressure relief valve. As an added bonus, the PC (essentially now a "sterilizer") will pull and hold a vacuum when it cools, so no contaminated air can enter. I did it, and it is awesome!
You can take your PC up to just shy of 26 psi with no worries.

Inoculated two jars from PE swabs yesterday. No pinning yet on my B+ plates. B+ master is almost fully colonized and will be g2gd once I have free jars.
