I've got a print here labeled KSSS "Chron's genetics". Sounds like some marketing mumbo jumbo, but I'll be running that.

Inocuole said: Well fuck, here we are. I only have one swab with spores left and I promised it to Gyo. I don't really feel like growing any of the varieties I do have spores for, and if we're all just making our own threads anyway, and then linking them here, then.. meh. I'll just keep growing at my pace and let everybody else deal with the fustercluck.
Kinda less of a "let's all grow" thread and more of a "post your links to grows here" thread at that point. A few months down the line and nobody will know the difference between those threads and any other grows that weren't started at a similar time. I kinda liked the other grow-along thread format where we all got a post in and then just edited our posts on the first pages, occasionally mentioning updates in the thread itself. Might not work with larger groups though..
Not talking shit on the plan here, just not sure it's for me. Take it easy y'all.
I like that idea.

I do too since that was my original plan . Just not with this many people (and especially this many noobs) I just know they'd clusterfuck the shit out of it. I want to do that idea with a more select crowd of experienced growers. Like the people in AAW.

what i did for the AMU grow was start it in my journal so that everyone participating posted just once to get a spot, once everyone was posted i moved it to cult

How was it for nothing? That strain was nuts for me and I didn't even give it enough FAE. Turned damn near black at the bases.
You got that print from me Grey. And I got it directly from Cronicr its not mumbo jumbo.
Its second gen from his print.

@grey: so far my oakridge I inoc'ed some jars with is doing some funky shit man. Is it normal for the myc to fully colonize the jars then grow a layer of skin over it(skin that peels off with ease)? All of them have done it so far. No pins on them yet, but they are definitely standing out from the KSSS with some unique attributes. I'm hoping you can let me know if that's normal or if I've fucked up somehow.

Dourden, I was just giving Chron a hard time. I'm excited to try it based on what you told me about it.
Dr.Satan, the only defining characteristic I had with the two grows I did (where that print came from) of Oakridge is that the mycelium was snowy white and tomentose (fluffy).
Do you have pics? Are they standalone cakes or are you fruiting from a container?

I've had some funky results from Oak Ridge. Fast contams from stuff I thought was clean. I was a n00b @ SAB work when I was using it, but still. Had way better results from my RedBoy with equivalently bad SAB work.
Never had any weird skins form on it though. Tends to grow "fatass" type mushrooms. The one thing I will say for it is that it is a very clean high. I feel agile and more readily able to form complex thoughts. Maybe that's just cause it's weaker.
Just noc'd some grains with wedges of MS Oak Ridge. I'll see what happens.

lol, mine was more grayish and highly rhizomorphic.
--------------------
I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister. I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave. I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent. Triggered yet? Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."
No, this does not look right...

I took 4.5g and paced around the woods for hours thinking about hunting, trees starving for air, and how hard it would be to get enough money to build a credible spacecraft and gtfo this planet.
This wasn't a first gen print was it? I think we just pretty well proved that unless you have a definitive print lineage or rare characteristic, the name of a "variety" doesn't mean much.
My feeling is take the prints you have, and use whichever is, on average, better for the basis of your genetics selection.

If you guys are growing a fairly wild (less than 6 generations) variety, results from ms are going to vary even more than normal. I believe that the ones given out from the shroomey1 were still pretty wild, don't expect much consistency from those.

Oh mine were all over the place. Big fruits, little fruits, mutants, but very prolific. That's the grow that dropped the rust print.
