Let's go for my first try, Verm and BRF, I'll upload pics as it comes
Be indulgent , I deliberately made various test for the size of the jars, the temperatures etc... I want to learn by the experiments.
So, I inoculated 7 jars almost 3 weeks ago :
2x 1/2 pint jars, One have died by red mold (and cob web) yesterday after I tried casing it. That was fun, my first contams and I haven't been disapointed. Now I know my enemies. The other never germinated, I probably inoculated him to early after sterilisation, the heath killed the spores.
2x 2/3 pint jars (pic below)

3x 1 pint jars (pics are coming)

What I learned : - The colonisation is way slower when it reach the bottom of big jars, maybe the weight of the subtract make it less airy. - I need to sterilise my casing layers . - Relatively low heath can kill the spores. - The colonisation is quicker at 86 F than 73. - The tek is always right. - Knots appeared the day after I put jars for consolidation in a lighter place.
Update : 07/11/2015
3 cakes birthed, dunked and rolled
2 (1 pint format) cakes are still colonising
I prepared 4 others 2/3 pint cakes 4 days ago, made with local whole red rice and verm, whatever the strain or the substrate did, it's colonising really quick.

The experiments on jar size wont really do a whole lot until you are working with an isolated strain. There is simply too many strains present when working with multispore to narrow down wat the cause was which could just be genetics when comparing jar to jar.
Yea definitely best to wait for the jars to cool first.
Pasteurize the casing not sterilize.
Yes, the myc will colonize quicker at higher temps but contams will as well.

Update !
+ Do you have any idea on this rice statement ?
This new rice is red organic rice, and it seems to have an impact.
It is the same siringue of multispores I used for inoculating the first cakes, and it is 2 to 3 times quicker for those ones.
