Planting/Spreading horse manure in garden ??? (Spreading mushroom P. subbalteatus)

Hi all,
People say that they use a tiller to spread horse manure in their garden, and get good results (e.g: P. subbalteatus) ,
But the question is do I have to use a tiller to spread the horse manure in the garden? I don't have a tiller or anything similar, so can I just use a spade and equally spread the horse manure over the garden?
Please, any input greatly appreciated.
Thank You.

You could try, but it is not that simple. You'd have a better chance making a compost pile with horse manure and straw, then try to get some P. cinctulus mycelium and inoculate it with.
Spreading some poop will probably be healthy for your lawn, though.

Hi,
Thanks for the advice. The thing is a guy posted that the horse manure he got already had the P. cinctulus mycelium in it.
So if I get horse manure that has P. cinctulus mycelium in it, can I just rake it on the garden?
Thanks.

Might still work, but I believe the growing conditions would be better in a heap. Seems like they fruit much more aggressively and abundant from dung heaps than lawns, ime.
