Monotub fruiting *UPDATE*
    #21882316 - 07/01/15 10:22 AM (8 years, 6 months ago)

So this is my first mono, please critique me if I'm doing any wrong here haha. I just added polyfill today for it is fully colonized, should I start misting now that it is in fruiting? Or should I wait until it starts to get pretty dry? And also I will keep updates through the fruiting stage.

UPDATE

I added a casing layer 5 days ago, and just last night I saw pins popping through, when I look closely there are like assloads of knots across the surface. Also this is PF Classic strain.

From what ive understood, you don't need to mist monotubs, hence "set and forget" term.

I asked this exact question because I wanted as much info as I could get before I started mine, and you only mist if it gets dry which normally shouldn't happen.  Like you said, only mist if it gets dry, but that shouldn't happen I don't think.  also, look at dunking teks for after your first or maybe second flush.

Is the mycelium supposed to be like that, looks like aerial mycelium which I know isn't ideal during cake fruiting but im not sure about monotub fruiting.

Good luck!:growshrooms:

I'm pretty sure this arial myc is completely fine, just a little aggressive I think. The only bad thing that leads to this myc is bad fae but that can't be since i just put it in FC. They must be really hungry haha. But thanks for the help guys, just trying to make it as easy as possible haha.

The pins appeared last night! 5 days after late casing was added.

Lots of strains. It's a MS grow.

Just to save yourself some future confusion: strain in mycology is not like weed. You're thinking of variety. A strain is basically the meeting of spores that germinate and form mycelium.
