P. Cinctulus
    #21882276 - 07/01/15 10:11 AM (8 years, 6 months ago)

I live in southern Ontario and I have found what could be P. Cinctulus in my back yard. I have already had to waste possible shrooms this season because I couldn't get pics up so I really don't want to waste these. If you think this could be Cinctulus but need more pics let me know. the link below should bring you to a pic.

Please upload and post pictures directly on the site.

I'm not clicking any google-related links, I'll prefer keeping my anonymity. :tinfoil:

You can upload them to a site like for instance imgur.com, and insert the bbcode in the post here, works fine.

What's the trouble with uploading to the Shroomery?

It usually works fine for me, but seems it is lagging some times.

It's not only for privacy's sake, you'll obviously get more and better opinions if your pictures are instantly visible.

Lol. I heard that cincts and foes sometimes grow very vlose to each other or even right beside. Do you know if this is true?

i am sure its true.  i'm also pretty sure its true that happens 0.01% of the time.  in other words, if you look in 10,000 foe patches, you'll at least find one cinct.

(i think my sig figs are right, correct me math geeks if i'm not)

I doubt the mycelium would only produce one fruit. It seems to make sense to me. These species are closely related and they both grow on the same substrate and populate the substrate with the most nutrients available. Do you have any evidence to support your claim? Im not saying your wrong, i dont have any evidence either.

i wasn't implying that you'd only find one fruit.  i was trying to show that distribution isn't the same as foes.  if they're there at all i'm sure you'd find more than one.

as far as evidence?  do a search on this forum for key word cinctulus.
then, do an analysis of how many are actually cincts vs. how many turned out to be foes instead.

i'm pretty sure that even this statistically somewhat flawed sample will illustrate my point quite well. for every 100 foes, you'll find a cinct.  thats all i mean by it.  the percentage would be presumably higher on here due to some 'education' of the hunter than your average lawn grazer.
