Pins growing in the dry vermiculite layer/ final result

Hi guys, I need an advice on what to do; my jars started pinning a lot in the dry vermiculite layer, what should I do ? It'd be a shame to destroy them to start real fruiting in a FC... Maybe invitro? thanks for any advice

How does this happen? This isn't the first I've heard of it, but does this happen when you wait to long to put cakes in FC?

Is the cake fully colonized? That would be why it is pinning.. If it is not fully colonized you've got some kind of mold/bacteria/contam in there causing the fruits to pin before their time, kind of like trying to get the fuck outta there before shit goes down.

Quick! do a quick surgery.
Clone those pins, drop em in petri dishes.

Hey OP what strain is that? If you don't mind me asking of course. I'm theorizing that the fast colonizers can't be consolidating for a week and perhaps the week should be cut in half or something.

Prolific fruiters are great candidates for cloning...For you to keep the 'substrain' and, perhaps, get the substrain going...

understood; unfortunately it's my first time growing and I don't have petri dishes...

It's glass and light gets through the side causing side pinning where the myc meets the verm. It got light there before the myc has had time to get through the verm. That's what it looks like to me. It gets enough fresh air and light, the 2 pinning triggers. You'll see if you remove the verm, the pins will only be on the side. Next time wrap something around the jars if you want to fruit them that way to block out light

The dry vermiculite must not be very dry.

So what. It is time to fruit. Dunk and try to leave the pins attached. If they fall off, they weren't meant to be.

the pins are all in the dry vermiculite layer, by removing it I'll surely lose all the pins, but anyway I think it's the only way... IMHO it's better if I wait a couple of days (since pins are growing very fast) before fruiting so that I could pick them and get a decent trip, what do you think?

Hey OP, there is so much bad info on this thread try to ignore it please. Pinning in-vitro has a couple of causes, one of them being contaminations present. If the contaminations are present in the jar the mycelium will try and fruit while it can before the contamination kills it. That's what I think could be happening, but you also could have started the consolidation date late and the mycelium are just really mature.
Light have literally nothing to do with In-vitro pinning, id really like to see some sources where you got that info from. Please stop spreading bad info, especially to new growers, where bad info can be the difference between a failed or successful grow.
--Either way, I would birth them,(rinse them off after birthing them) and start the 24hr dunk, then roll in DRY verm and place in the SGFC. Just for a hint, I like using jar lids are the base for the mushrooms to sit on in the SGFC, they are easier to handle, and easier to clean.
Another good tip, after the cakes have pinned, a day later, replace the bottoms you use(to separate the cakes and the perlite, foil squares or jar lids or whatever you use) with a small saucer for each cake, put a small amount of water on the saucers and place the cakes on top back into the chamber. This will cause the cakes to suck up the water and pump it into the cakes yielding bigger fruits, I can attest this works quite well. Mist as normal.
also, search the "Misted cake project", and "how it should and shouldn't look" for really good info to have on hand(contaminations, misting info, etc..)
good luck man, if you have any questions please feel free to PM me.

thanks to everyone for the advices, tonight I'll start the 24hr dunk. I appreciated the idea of the saucer, never heard about it. I'll let you know how it's going in the next days
