I had to look up wtf a drawing room was, because apparently I'm a lowly philistine.
Quote:
This is the Lady's Apartment, essentially, being the modern form of the Lady's Withdrawing-room, otherwise the Parlour, or perfected Chamber of mediaeval plan. If a Morning-room be not provided, it is properly the only Sitting-room of the family. In it in any case the ladies receive calls throughout the day, and the family and their guests assemble before dinner. After dinner the ladies withdraw to it, and are joined by the gentlemen for the evening. It is also the Reception-room for evening parties. There is only one kind of Drawing-room as regards purpose: there is little difference, except in size and evidence of opulence, between that of the duchess and that of the simplest gentlewoman in the neighborhood. . . .
So, I require further clarification. Are you a duchess, or the simplest gentlewoman in the neighborhood?
If the latter, I would offer that a ceiling light would be perfectly adequate. In addition to that, it would be nearly impossible to give you a good recommendation that accounted for your style and taste without first seeing this grand drawing room of yours.

Doesnt a chadelier usually have a ton of crystal all over them? Theyre usually very ornate an large too. Typically i think they look tacky n shitty to me unless its crazy crafted antiquie and like a focal point in a grand foyer or gracing a ballroom or summin. Hell they dont even throw off light well with all the crap hanging off them. What think you want is a candalabra.

I would choose a chandelier for no other reason then I think they are esthetically lovely to look at.

Both are great. But If I were you, I'll go with chandeliers. I think it's more convenient and elegant. Good luck!
