PF wipping the top of the jar
    #21879022 - 06/30/15 04:46 PM (8 years, 6 months ago)

HEllO!
Hi there,
Well then,
Thanks in advanced,
Let us see here,
So,
Ok,
Anyways,
Oh yeah!

A couple quick questions about PF.
Is there a difference between Tek and Technique?
Do half pint jars for BRF need to have the top half inch wiped off? If this step is skipped what is the likelihood a jar will contaminate?
Can one coffee grind WBS, pop corn, or sunflower seeds instead of BRF and use this in the mix instead or can one due half and half for PF? I have heard salba seeds having some success.
Well then,
Now lets see,
Um,
Ah,
Yes!
Thanks everyone!

You can grind and mix, I did and do if I have to. But brown rice is absolutely everywhere and cheap as dirt.

TEK = technology enabled knowledge.  Or, whatever I guess it could mean technique too.  But if you needed to improve your technique I'd just say technique.  A TEK always amounts to a learning module of some kind basically.

I thought it was "Technical Educational Knowledge"

Did you not wipe? You should wipe.

Edit: tek means both of our definitions....Or it could mean "technologically elite kids" or "TEKS is the most polite way of insulting a female person.

It spells the word 'SKET' backwards and is used as a polite backhanded insult!" or "to apply oneself obsessively to a task, esp. while on methamphetamine"

The point of the wipe is to prevent a layer of moisture which a contamination could ride down to your BRF. The dry vermiculite layer is a very hostile environment for mold. There is no water and no nutrients to allow the mold to grow. If you don't wipe...well then that's one less problem for the mold spore.

There's like a thousand acronyms that it COULD reference and many of them are applicable.  Hard to say if everyone even means the same thing when they use the acronym in the same conversation.

I know, I could've kept going.

OP, can you not find Brown rice to coffee grind? I wouldn't do sunflower seeds.

That's what I do when I do cakes. Can't get much cheaper grinding your own. Plus it's super fresh that way and seems to colonize a little quicker when ground as needed.

Of course I wiped after pooping.....Always even if it feels clean as a whistle

By the way grey all those things you said match your name , in a good way.

Does OP stand for OLD POSTER? I have seen it on here before.

Thanks for the responses. BR is commonly found here, it was more of a inquiry. What about wheat bran or other brans? Does bran produce more weight than flour or just contaminate faster?

Remember kids don't forget to wipe because, there is no water and no nutrients to allow the mold to grow there then . Listen hear, this is how you keep your BRF(Big round Fanny) clean.

What, I'm sorry?  I've already had kids and sent them off to college since the last time I posted in here.  You're gonna have to speak loudly into the other ear.

Hi this is Inocuole's grandson.  He passed away recently but in his Will & Testament he left instructions to reply to this thread and tell you that he wished you the best, and also that he pooped his pants, which I see that you already addressed.  Good day and take care.
