So i inoculated my brf cakes 4 days ago and im starting to see come growth. Its white and fluffy at the icoculation points. But i have a question.... It seems to me with holes being open for gas exchange that it will loose its moisture inside the jars very fast. Can you tell me why iy dousny loose it or explain that to me?

Did you put a dry verm layer at the top of your jars? That's mostly going to help with keeping contaminants out but I wouldn't worry about the jars drying out. Are you planning on doing a dunk or dunk and roll after birthing? This will help replenish the moisture in your cakes.

As long as you made the sub right by the time your cakes dried out they would be stalled or contamed anyways. Just be patient

I did put the dry layer on top. Just didnt make sense to me that it wouldnt dry out just from that.

It's not just from that the verm that does get wet retains water excellently. There's alot of engineering behind those cakes, stop worrying yourself

Nah not worrying just trying to figure it out haha i keep thinking how the hell. But that makes much more sense now thinking about how the verm holds water. Also i would like for someone to verify me on my next steps. Ive read bunches but would like it if someone could tell me if i have anything bad. After fully colonized...wait 1 week to consolidate...dunk for 24 hours...roll in dry fine verm... Place in fc at 70 to 80 degrees with 3 inches of soaked then drained perlite at the bottom...12 hours light and 12 hours dark like im doing now...mist and fan 4 or 5 times a day...very fine mist or course... Sound correct? Am i missing anything?

rinse the cake before and after the dunk, more perlite helps keep need for misting down, and only mist when its needed not some set number pr day.

Be patient. We have lives too. Lol.. Your set up sounds good. Sounds like you have everything covered. But your fc, did you make a sgfc? You can't put perlite in a sealed tub idk if that's what your trying to do

No. That's not gonna cut it. Drill a 1/4 inch hole every square 2 inches like a grid. Then you have a shot gun fruiting chamber. Yes the lids and the bottom too. All 6 sides of your tub
