Listen to these guys on here when they say dont cut corners.
I had one successful grow and thought i knew what i was doing (lol) and only sterilized for 45min. Now 10days after innoc wondering why i dont have any myc. I sacrifice the jars and what do you know..they all smelled like sour milk
So now instead of the last 2 hours before bed listening to kusic and choking the chicken ill be spending it making new jars and sterilizing the shit out of them.
So yeah guys if youre new to this and think mushroom cultivation is something you want to stick with. DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.
Truly yours- a fellow newb

Yeah this pretty much goes for anything in life. The amount of time you think you're saving by doing something half assed, you're going to end up spending at least twice as long as it would've originally taken to just do it right the first time. This applies to much more than just growing mushrooms! If you're going to bother doing something, do it right! Take pride in doing the best you can, no matter what it is you're doing.

Examined in another way, the United States has 100,000 more people incarcerated for nonviolent drug offenses than all the countries of the European Union combined, despite the fact that the European Union has 100 million more citizens.

I've always been the type of person that is too stubborn to listen to advice and needs to learn from mistakes. Mushroom cultivation has helped me with that personality flaw. I take people's advice now.

Yeah I find you can't learn if you don't make mistakes but you can make far less mistakes listening to those who have already made said mistakes

Good thread. Its hard to resist the urge to feel that "I know what I'm doing" and to take constructive criticism the wrong way. But this is a hobby with incredible nuances and turns that can really mess you up. Everyone who has grown at least 100 times knows that contams can sneak up on the best of us. Never get complacent.
