Yep, but it looks like one of the inactive species. Might be G. sapineus.

Think it would be worth a shot to make some tea, I've read some people got effects from Gyms that didn't bruise.

You should check the mycelium to see if it bruises blue? They look like they may be active, but im not too experienced. I have had some that looked identical that were active they are pics of them in my gallery, but the mycelium on mine bruised blue. Peace

most likely just a placebo effect...or possibly they didn't know (or care) how/where to check for bruising.

and on the other hand, there's still much about these species that isn't really known or investigated.
as has been discussed elsewhere, its been suggested that kavalactones are present in at least one species, so its conceivable that it could occur in others.
but, let me be very clear. i'm in no way suggesting thats the case here!
lets hope we find out one of these days

true, RA. hell, people have been known to consume a very small amount of a toxic substance and report 'good effects' from that.
soooo there is no accounting for taste and--as you stated--many of the alkaloids/compounds present in this (and most) species haven't even been documented and/or investigated.

Wow yours do look very like mine except for the bruising. I'll have to go back and get a closer look at the mycelium soon.
