This is a great recipe to hide the taste of mushrooms for people who do not like them, best I've found at masking the taste so far, and its super simple and really good if your a PB Fanatic. Doesn't come out too dense either on account of it being almost half graham cracker
Ingredients *1 CUP Peanut Butter *3/4 CUP Graham Crackers (pulverized fine) *1/4 CUP Powdered Sugar *1/4 Honey *Cracker Dry Mushroom material, (Pulverized) Variable amount to your liking
Directions: Mix the dry ingredients (graham, mushroom, powdered sugar) in a blender, food processor or even do it in batches in a blade grinder for coffee. If you don't have powdered sugar you can also make that in a blade grinder, just grind regular sugar til it is VERY FINE. After the dry ingredients are very well mixed (must be evenly mix for dosing purposes) add the PB and Honey and wash your hands thoroughly before you start mixing and kneading the stuff together. Use a spoon at first until it is somewhat combined, then start using your hands to knead it until it is thoroughly combined and uniform mass of dough, shouldn't be sticky, it should be like play dough, if it is sticky add a little more graham or powedered sugar and knead until thoroughly mixed and no longer sticky. if it comes out a bit crumbly try adding a bit more PB or Honey until it takes on the proper consistency.
Dosing: I weighted the whole dough ball, divided it's weight by 24 and then proceeded to tare off and weigh chunks until it equaled 1/24 of the total (mine were 19g which is a good size I think). Rolled it into a ball and froze them, they are great frozen! Feel free to do what you wish here, make cubes or discs or...whatever.
Each ball will have roughly 1/24 of the total amount of mushroom material you added during preparation assuming you mixed really well.
Hope you like it!

All the fats and starches are going to slow down the onset considerably.

True, it will slow it down a bit but it isn't as bad as you'd think, they are quite crumbly when frozen so they get a good amount of surface area. Now how long that surface area is exposed before it turns back into a sort of doughy like substance in your stomach when approaching body temp, well...that I don't know. If you have an empty stomach it still seems to tare through them fairly quickly though.
Might be a nice way for people who don't like that super strong, anxious come-up that occurs with the straight powdered material or whole dryed material.
