Hey everybody, today I was supposed to go buy some Jiffy seed pellets with the little greenhouse but I ran out of money yesterday buying water, soil, and paying the shipping for a plant trade I made So I had to come up with a way to make seed pellets since I killed ALL of my Silene capensis seedlings by watering them too hard in my raised bed. To make these you'll need only 4 things, and I didn't want to use tape, glue or staples because I don't know what the hell kinda sticky crap is on the tape thatay be able to get into my plants. First thing is an empty toilet paper or tissue roll cut into ~1.5" cylinders.

The second, obviously is a pair of scissors. I'm a bit of a scissor snob so I have these dope $15.00 pair of Fiskars lol.

Next you just need some PAPER newspaper, not the plastic or shiny stuff. I get one every week and my neighbor doesn't read his so I snag that bad boy too

Finally you need a soil or growing medium of your choice. Organic is the only way to do it for me.

So what you wanna do is cut the cardboard roll into cylinders with a height of about 1.5".
Then take your newspaper and cut yourself out as many 5.5" squares as you have cylinders.
Then set the roll in the middle of the paper squares and fold one side into the middle of the tube, crease it, then do the same thing with the opposite side. Repeat with the last two sides and press it down one side at a time to hold the paper to the roll.
Finally take your potting mix and fill it up about halfway or full if you'd like then plant whatever seed/s you want in there. You've just make a cheap yet effective seed starting pot in about 90 seconds that will biodegrade.

If you want you could even use vermiculite for those tough seeds that have a tendency to rot. Welp, that's all for now ladies and gents, until next time!

Nice. I've seen a variation of this before, but thanks for posting it with the pics and everything.
-------------------- One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. 'Which road do I take?' she asked. 'Where do you want to go?' was his response. 'I don't know', Alice answered. 'Then', said the cat, 'it doesn't matter.'

Yeah no worries man, those Jiffy pellets are fairly cheap but theseriously literally come out to a cost of about 2 pennies a pop. I just planted some Yeba Santa in the 6 I made so I'll keep you updated as to how effective they really are, cause with only using one sheet of newspaper it may be too thin to stay that moist and rip out the bottom. But here they are for right before I put them in the greenhouse.
