Found this beauty in the woods of Pennsylvania growing in a leafy material. I'm suspecting amanita musc or sorts.I picked some other I'd liked ID as well. All growing from leafy woody material.

for Amanita species it is necessary to see the full stem base for an accurate identification and although I can kind of see it in the second picture it would be easier with a clearer look at it. can you please post a picture?
the other ones are Gymnopus sp and Lactarius sp respectively.

could be Amanita frostiana, could be a light colored Amanita flavoconia, could even be Amanita muscaria var. guessowii and you just inadvertently rubbed off the shaggy fringes at the base when cleaning it off.
it's definitely nothing you want to eat though.

Hm, I didn't clean it off. I'll go and gather some more of them and take pics and be careful not to rub em. Oh, and it has a slight red color on it at the center of the cap.

Sounds like a plan. Amanita are a very tricky species, much like piranhas

Hahahaha. WHat did I just watch! Im torn between Amanita Frost and the Musc. It looks more muscy then frosty though, but still they both look pretty damn identical

Those Amanita are different, they are Amanita amerirubescens group, see how they bruise pink/rosy in places of damage?
That blue stiped one is Entoloma sp

Thanks man for all your help! Certainly learned some stff regarding Amanitas. I'm convinced that the yellow mushroom is a Amanita frostiana based on pictures and measurements. Sadly there isn't much info on this mushroom :/. Really cool print
