Bought some serious sound equipment - now what?

So while walking through the neighborhood today, I came across a guy selling a cab and a head at a garage sale for $200. So I bought them.

random stock photos of what i bought. It's a peavey 1810 and a mark iv 400bh
Unfortunately I'm a complete newb at this and have no idea what else I need to do to get some music coming out of this. I tried googling but everyone who uses these things is very, very serious about music and equipment and I can't understand half the words they're using. Anyone out there who could help? I can see that obviously I need to get some thick cables with male heads, but I don't even know what I would ask for at the store. Is there some way to hook this up to my stereo? Do I have to buy a bass guitar now? Will I be able to crack my house's foundation with soundwaves? Help!

It's a PA system, so you need a sound output that uses an XLR cable. I use a vestax VAI-80 (it's a relatively cheap usb soundcard that has XLR outputs). I have that rigged up to 2 Mackie MR8s for my home rig.
Basically all it is a Passive speaker with an amp, it's simple to setup, don't be scared by all the knobs, just when you're plugging shit into it and figuring out what button does what, make sure the master gain is turned right down... it's pretty much impossible to do damage to it unless the gain is turned right up.
