DMT Trip Paralysis

So my friend took some DMT with a buddy of his, and said he became paralyzed. He didnt have any visuals, but he lost almost all of his motor controls and it was difficult for him to speak. He said he felt as thou he was gonna pass out. A feeling of almost fear or dread, and a very odd change in perception.
He said he felt as thou he was in a doll house. Like when your driving at night and your tired. How the orange street lights reflecting off homes make them look fake or like a model. Doll house like. Almost like that scene in Betelgeuse when hes dancing on that town model. Also a huge head rush and increased heart rate. He took two hits of very white crystal DMT. His friend was with him and smoked the same amount, but his friend said he instantly saw geometric shapes and crazy cartoon world effects. No passing out or body load. This kinda makes me afraid to try it. I wanted to, but after hearing his story Im nervous.
Also I might add after he came back he felt kinda good lol like peaceful. And oddly, both him and his friend felt a strange sense that they had done this before. But yet it was there first time ever trying or hearing about DMT minus the little research on it they did.
What do you guys think ? Is this a normal experience ? Was he about to break thru ? Or did he have a strange bad reaction to it ?

Your brain has a built in safety mechanism that paralyzes your body while you're sleeping so you can't hurt yourself by reacting to a dream. The brain also has a similar reaction to DMT, suggesting that endogenous DMT may contribute to dreaming.

Not always ...... Moving/flailing around from dmt during "break through"
but generally speaking, yea dmt does plant me down considerably. It has a very powerful load & "sensation" in the body that keeps me planted where i sit....though not unpleasant imo, just very quick and sometimes strange feels, 'tis the nature of of the stuff .

If it caused paralysis it'd probably be the reason from what starless said. DMT is very safe, just like starlet said.
The LD50 of DMT on mice(which is almost always similar to humans) is 110 mg/kg. So if you weighed 150 pounds you'd need to smoke 7484 mgs of DMT. Which both tolerance and probably disconnecting from reality 100% would happen way before you'd die.
DMT is very safe, but very powerful psychedelic. If you're smoking DMT you will be completely fine.
Also to account your friend's feeling like he was in a doll house or whatever, it's because he was ingesting a hallucinogen. Effects can vary wildly on any hallucinogen.

If he would have taken a few mg more he would have passed out and entered another world for a few minutes. First feeling is mostly a feeling of being naked mentally, that something is upon you and then your heartbeat will go up slightly and you will feel odd. The cartoonlike experience is pretty commond on subbreakthrough doses. All shapes you see in your reality become basic shapes. Books becomes blocks of color. Hands become basic shapes like a stick with a ball on it (if closing fist) and the colors become one color, meaning that if you have a book that has mostly brown in it, it will become a block of brown.
Make sure you trip in a safe place sitting down as you will lose control over your physical body when you enter the other reality. Same mechanics that is in effect during rem-sleep.
