That looks like a heavy bacterial contamination, I don't think you'll be getting anything from those.

All I see is one plate in your gallery.
EDIT: You have five pictures of the same plate in your gallery.

Every plate is bacterial, man. I dont think you can salvage that. Re try after perfecting your sterile technique.

I wouldn't. Those are very questionable.

You might be able to take a transfer from the this one, but try very hard to avoid the bacteria. It probably still won't be clean until a few transfers though.

That's from 6 and 7. And it's got a glossy look because it's both mycelium and bacteria. Mycelium should be fluffy/rhizo and amazingly aggressive looking. Not like that. I'd seriously just review the techniques and start over. Working with hidden bacteria contaminations is the bane of our existence. I know I'm not the only one who agrees.

definitely not the only one. I've had bacteria ride out a few transfers under the myc. It can be hard to out run bacteria because it grows real fast

You could also try inoculating a small pint jar of rye with your MS syringe. Once fully colonized, take a single grain and place it on agar.
If you have no spore prints or fruits to clone this method will work.
I too tried multi-spore -> agar and it is challenging to get it started. I ended up with many plates contaminated before the spores could germinate. You are better off with spore prints, mushroom tissue or colonized rye grains to get your agar started up.

All from spore syringes. Not even wrapped in film. My experiences have been that syringes are awesome. Just need a few drops and let it streak across the plate.
I'm not sure why you got beef with syringes.. they're the exact same success as prints. Actually it's probably better than prints. It's pretty easy to slightly lift the lid and only have the needle in the dish, drop a couple drops and tilt the dish around to let it go all around the dish. No gloved hand or syringe even goes near the plate. Just the flamed needle you used.

Every time I've made a syringe and tested it on agar, it has contaminated. But for some reason I can't make syringes anymore... But agar is the shit!
I'd suggest trying to fix your sterile technique. Since you're pouring the plates, I'd keep a plate as a control. BUt what's your technique? Are you suing a SAB or a flowhood?

Yes that is bacteria, you may get growth from them yet. As soon as you see myc growth transfer to a new plate avoiding any bacteria slime. The syringe you had was bad or go contaminated before going to agar.
And yes again you can use cakes just be sure the section you grab is fro the center of the cake not the top or bottom. If you have a clean cake then just pull a small piece of myc from the center/side of the cake should be easy just don't touch anything else.
