Good luck. It's gotten hotter and drier.

I was thinking about the Tellarue mushroom festival, and surrounding area. Its been raining every other day here in Missouri.

If you're looking for actives, Colorado is not the place. We're too dry. You should be looking at either the Gulf Coast area or the Pacific Northwest.
As for general mushroom hunting, we do okay. Missouri is just as good in general. The cool thing we do have is the ability to change altitude so we can see different seasons by driving a bit. Right now if I look in the Denver area we're just getting into the summer mushroom season, but if I drive up near timberline I can still see snowbank mushrooms. By picking the right altitude I can select the exact point in between those I want to be at.
In general, we're drier than Missouri, and don't typically do very well with morels. An average year there is similar or better than a really exceptional year here.
Good luck!
-------------------- Happy mushrooming!
