Food Dehydrator - any consensus?
    #21868733 - 06/28/15 02:01 PM (8 years, 7 months ago)

I have searched and read many threads on using a heated food Dehydrator for mushies. I used a presto brand and measured the max temp at 160f. My research suggests that as long as you are under 180f there should not be significant loss. Now I know many people use the 95f rule of thumb but I have yet to see any justification of why. Anyone care to enlighten?

Swim did use this dehydrator on his first batch and found the mushies to be less potent than mushies from previous sources. Is this likely the cause? Swim is trying to trouble shoot in order to refine future technique.

Thanks all

160f heat will not affect them. If you had a bunk batch after drying it was most likely genetic.

Okay thanks. That's along the lines of my original suspicion I just wanted to double check.
