Looking for a good quality warm hoodie

Willing to spend about $70 on a high quality hoodie. Warmth is what matters most but the hoodie must look and feel excellent as well. What's the deal with North Face, everyone I know makes a huge deal out of the company's clothing.

Here's a hoodie that was created through kickstarter called the "10 year hoodie".
Spend like 30 more dollars, and you basically have a 10 year warranty on a high quality hoodie.

my recommendation would be "NOT NORTHFACE". It is over-priced and not as warm as you would like to think it is for the price.

I use elements, theyre like $50 and really high quality, love it
elements hoodie google that
with a hoodie I can use ANY jacket and have it under the jacket, so I can use a cheap jacket for both summer and winter.. rain is no problem either, if you got a hoodie under the jacket

A sweat shirt is a sweatshirt You can get a decent one for 20 to 30$, Unless your hung up on some brand name. If you don't have need to wash it every time you put it on A cheapo K Mart hoodie will last as long maybe even longer than one from say an outdoors shop. Though Carhart makes some sturdy stuff one of those might go say 50.00.

I would also stay away from Northface. I find their clothing to be ill-fitting (made to fit a generic bodytype more so than other brands which have a more athletic cut) and overpriced. WIth Northface for most products, you are paying for the name.
I've got a Merino Hoodie from IBEX which I live in, is super warm and all around outperforms a regular "fashion" hoody - $200/though.
Icebreaker is another brand that makes "high performance" merino hoodies - also pricey.
Arborwear is a small american company that makes "double thick" hoodies for arborists. Big/thick/heavy/robust and affordable.

dont use northface, its made for US size XXXL always, so you need to buy a size extra extra extra small
I wonder where they get their sizes from..
northface is also overpriced always, sucks for summer weather - much too hot
even the cheapest jacket is better than northface IMO, anything is because the cheapst one you can breathe in, you cant do that with a $500 northface often (tried my friends)
benefits of a cheap jacket is also you can have something underneath, you cant do that with northface often - so they work great both for summer and winter
northface is usually winter only

I just think any northface stuff is too hot, even though they make some breathable stuff too
it usually surprises the person who buys a jacket for $500 that its useless beacuse its too hot to use in the sun
also they are black so they absorb all heat from the sun
lots of downsides, few +es, even their hoodies look much too hot IMO
I got a northface jacket for free once, really expensive one, was much too hot to use and my friend bought one he couldnt really use in the summer

Fuck paying retail. I got some name brand 100+ dollar pieces of clothing in my closet I didn't spend more than 8 dollars for at thrift shops.

It's always worth a check out.
If I find some really nice name brand shit I'll buy it even if it isn't my size and resell that shit on ebay.
I've made a couple hundred dollars off rock revival jeans and other shit like that.

Ummm wouldn't the best idea be to go to a store and try the hoodies on? I've never looked at brand names I just buy what fits and what I like. There will be a sales rep who can direct you to the warmer sweaters if you get lost.

yeah I made this mistake last year, got a hoodie and it kinda sucks. I figured hey north face seems legit, but alas it blows on a most epic level. It's still warmer than the el cheapo one I had before it, but still let me down a bit.
Bad move north face, bad move.

Eastern Mountain Sports has some great long sleeve shirts. They might have some good hoodies too. If you're not on the east coast, you'll have to buy online though

Got one of them like 5 miles from where I live, woot woot. You see I don't own a car, and winter is cold as a mofo here in the NE, USA, so I ride a bike or walk everywhere no matter what season it is, rain, sleet, snow I am out there getting to where I need to go by bike or foot so having proper gear is a must for me.
Anyway, will have to check them out.
