Question regarding cactus

Not my typical post on shroomery, but currently my girlfriend is stressing over her counter top cactus. A section of the cactus has began developping a white overlay. Was wondering if anybody could shine some light on how i could fix it?

I can't really see what's going on there - for some reason I can't expand the pic and get a good look?
Is it fuzzy or wooly type of growth? Or is the skin changing color? What exactly does it look like? Are any of your other cacti there experiencing the same thing?

It does seem to be completely covered by mold! touch it, is it soft and squishy? youd better cut things off then.

Wow. You guys think a peroxide treatment would kill that stuff back?

remove everithyng,it's gone beyond any chance to survive. check the other cacti , maybe they are damaged if the mold did spread.

I will agree. If it's all squishy and stuff, it's time to amputate
