another suggestion that i really loved was the two-part autobiography of Peter Mt. Shasta. the first is called 'Search for the Guru' and chronicles his early life and his travels to India in search of spiritual awakening. the second book, 'Adventures of a Western Mystic', continues from there and chronicles his training in Mount Shasta under the ascended masters, mainly St. Germain. both are excellent imo, and offer a ton of valuable insights into the spiritual path two of my favourite books !

My dad mentioned the second one to me before. he spoke highly of it, and his taste in books in generally good. So i approve
I also liked autobiography of a yogi a little bit. It is less towards the more spiritual/realistic/non-fiction end. The book is full of mystical happenings and strange occurances

I concur completely. It had the same effect on me. But the reference to Yogananda being "a Yogi Christ" directed me to the New testament. These were the last 2 books I read in college, and then I entered a Christian seminary at Drew University. Autobiography of a Yogi helped me bridge East to West in my inner life.

I would definitely suggest The Way of Peaceful Warrior novel by Dan Millman. There is also movie (Peaceful Warrior) that is very inspirative Books I read now are called Anastasia, Ringing Ceaders of Russia. True story about the (super)girl who lives deep in the nature, in ONE with everything around her... I'm learning many things from her! And of course- all books by Carlos Castaneda I'm sure many people from this forum will adore!

The Key by Whitley Strieber
I found it pretty good, if you read it all he talks about his spiritual advances.

The Red Book by Carl Jung. Laden with mythology, it's a beautiful read on Jung's personal descent to the "spirit of the depths" and the arduous process of healing he faced there.

Get the illustrated version rather than the reader, though. It's more expensive and too big for conventional bookshelves, but it's worth it.
