Need suggestions for outdoor security camera

I'd like any suggestions for small compact outdoor security cameras with a wide view from any shroomerites that have set something similar up for their own purposes.
I live in a major metropolitan area that has had government planes doing flyovers with drones, and doing "test runs" of stealth helicopters, and I would like to set up a camera pointing towards the direction of the city as that is where this shit seems to come in from.
3 weeks ago I witnessed some odd flying object that my girlfriend also saw when we were dead sober, and an hour later I heard a helicopter outside, and we went on my back porch and the fucking thing was a police helicopter hovering directly over my house. I was completely freaked out about it, but chalked it up to maybe the nearby army base was doing test drills.
Tonight I saw a plane flying dark except two lights at the tip of the wings and a red flashing light underneath it, and as it got closer I realized how low it was flying, and as it passed over my neighborhood a spotlight turned on and flashed it around my neighborhood and pointed right at me before it turned back off. I was describing what I was seeing to someone I was on the phone with, but the person responded "I don't know what you're saying but all I hear is static." This plane thing then hooked a hard right turn and disappeared over the trees into the next neighborhood, and suddenly the person I was talking to could hear me again.
I would like to know the frequency in which I have drones and helicopters flying over my house, but can't stay up every night holding a camera waiting, so I'd like something that is about the size of a pool table ball that I can mount on top of a motion sensor light.
I'm not paranoid they are watching me particularly, but if whatever government sector is running around taking snapshots of houses, I'd like to get an idea of the frequency this is happening cause seeing this shit twice in a month is pretty unsettling to say the least.
Thanks!

I have a friend who has a whole cam system rigged up nicely to a tv feed in his gaming room. Anytime he hears something he just looks up at it and sees anyone coming onto his property. I will ask him what kind of cameras he has next time I talk to him. His cameras are very discreet.

you can buy a nest cam, and an outside enclosure box for it, from Amazon. You can view it from your phone, zoom in, it records, and even has good night vision.

I use dropcam. Its by nest. Works great day or night and the app on the phone is nifty and handy. Sound works good at this location even when speaking through the mic only issue is an two second delay. They also arent badly priced depending on your spending limit. There was a company with one called "doorbot" ir something along those lines to where even if did get stolen in any case they'd replace it. Free.
