Quck San Pedro Mescaline Flower question
    #21860142 - 06/26/15 03:48 PM (5 years, 8 months ago)

Hey was hoping someone had any input on the amount of mescaline contained in the small green pup that the flower comes from has anyone ever tested those little nubs to see if it has any amount? I Googled a couple different searches but could not find anything talking about this.

Interesting question. What got you wondering this, though? Surely those little nubs couldn't be a significant source....

'Which road do I take?' she asked.
'Where do you want to go?' was his response.
'I don't know', Alice answered.
'Then', said the cat, 'it doesn't matter.'

Ha I just was looking at a 7 foot Branch that my neighbor gifted me so generously and noticed three of those nubs where the flower was formed, how crazy would it be if its the most potent oh and how about anyone ever try to graft it or replant a nub, or  too small to even consider trying?

those are flower buds. You would have a hard time getting them to live long enough to root.

well.. the fruits do not contain mescaline, from all accounts that I know of. . and its only the greenish matrix of the body of the cacti, that usually contains any active compounds. .and as you get closer to the white core, less and less.

Now.. as far as a flower bud. . I doubt it.. or at least you'd have to probably harvest a lot, for any real effect.. But. . do not take my words as gospel. Lets see what others say.

Just allow the cactus to flower and don't eat the flower precursors , unless your eating them because your hungry-then I'd say "never get between a hungry man".

Naw , I read trouts notes concerning mescaline bearing cacti and according to him and other Olderheads, trichocereus flowers  don't contain significant alkaloids , its just a flower. I think once it ripens and flowers  you can collect seeds if the plant isn't sterile.

If there was significant alkaloids in the flower , you'd be hearing alot more from the community about them. Or atleast some sort of technique how to extract from flowers, but as far as I'm aware , there is nothing relating mescaline to the flowers.
