    #21857284 - 06/25/15 09:20 PM (8 years, 7 months ago)

I found these growing all over the woods in north florida. One is large, the other smaller with rounder leaves.

Any help Is greatly appreciated.

Pic #1, no.  No thorns and the leaves need more branching, I forget the term.

Pic#2 no, each individual leaf is too pear shaped, it should be more symmetrical, like a twinkie.

I don't really know, I think they have problems growing outdoors except maybe in S. Florida (maybe).  I used to know why but I forgot, maybe they aren't cold tolerant?

Neither of those plants is M. hostilis and the chances of finding it growing in your region is slim to none. It's not a native or an introduced species to your area. If it grows there it's because someone is growing it in their garden of yard.
