Brf not contaminating!

Something is puzzling me.
I have 1/4 pint pftek jars that I birthed before full colonization. I'm doing this as a learning exercise.
I cracked the jars and smelled the jar in the open air half a dozen times with no regard to sterility. It's been four days.. since I opened them
I expected to see mold cobweb or otherwise or atleast smell something off. Nothing! The mush myc continues to grow nicely. Why, why tell me why!!?

Does brf just take longer to go bad or what? I pced the jars for 2 hours.
My experience with other grains is that in 3-4 days grains will get smelly and visibly moldy... no questions asked!

Im not sure what you mean by birthed them if they're still in jars. I assume you have a verm layer on top as per pf tek which acts as a great barrier against contaminants.

I mean I opened the jars to open air and smelled them and put the lid back on.... Not really birthing.
I injected through a ship, no verm barrier.... brown rice clearly visible on top layer...

Then you have a very clean environment i guess. I havent done this without a verm barrier so i cant be sure about this situation

I'm talking ground zero for trich, the front lines people, D-day!
I inoculate soil with trich spores (for plants) and get it all over myself, almost daily...

Ime trich and other molds take about 5 days to germinate/show signs of growth, even on agar.

Ok 1 jar contamed pretty badly today, yay!
Maybe the grains were dryish. I cooked the pf jars for 2 hours instead of 45 min like I was supposed to. I don't really understand how they could loose moisture with steam everywhere buy I guess they do somehow. the others are still contam free.

Is it really a good idea to sniff a contam, especially if you don't know what it is?!

Haha well unless his immune system sucks major ass, he should be fine. Just don't go sniffing fusarium, black molds, or aspergillus.
Grains and brf believe it or not are actually pretty contamination prone when comparing to LC and agar. That's why you'd see way less cube spores germinating than you would on agar. Opening an agar dish to sniff is a disaster. It wouldn't have gone as smoothly as sniffing your spawn has
