Hi, Need your help to identify this Mushroom, it's seems to me Reishi Mushroom. First rise was before one year, it's grows on a cut off tree, it's has red/brown color surrounded with white color. now start to grow a new one, the old one become dry and has brown color.
You can see below (also link was added), a pictures for the current pics for the new and the old one, also some pic's for the old before become dry.
 Mushroom, is it reishi?

Thanks for advising

It most def. is reishi, now to boil it down to what kind, this goes by where discovered and what type of tree it is growing off of mainly

The tree was in our garden and it was cut off, it's name is: Araucaria heterophylla
I will be happy to absolutely verify that it is Reishi and it's not dungarees. I also discovered that it is eatable, is that true?

Fuck, I am uncertain with what type of tree you define, but yes that is edible, but very gross and tough like leather, prick that outer ring with a sewing needle or bobyy pin(safety pin) if it oozez resin it is G. resinaceum, most reishi you want to brew into a tea to get health benefits from them, not eat them

Man, I am not the best at id, but it is reishi, and I think it is g.tsugae, look it up
A TI will come along and tell u for sure, but I'm almost 99.9% sure that is what you have, nice find!
And no, you do not have to wait for it to dry, I can tell u with 100% certainty it will not hurt you(unless you are allergic) if made into tea, it is def. reishi, what variety is the .1% I'm not sure of

With that tree being a conifer i would expect this to be Ganoderma tsugae.

With each containing one of the following: Cyanide... Psilocin... Would you take the risk? Didn't think so. This is why Positive Identification prior to consumption is important.

Thanks a lot Man, it's realy looks like what u says: g.tsugae I looked for pictures in the web, and remembered that i had saw before the cutting of the tree a loot of Protuberances which was start to grow on it. To bad that it was cut off, i hope it will continue to grow on the part that still remaining from the tree.

I'm guessing you're in the Southern Hemisphere? I don't think we have Araucaria in the US. I've seen them in South America and Oceania. Not sure if the reishi we associate with hemlock in the US (tsugae) is the same as this reishi.

Hey OP, do you cultivate? It's very simple, you should clone one of those and you could end up with something like this, or even better, there are plenty of people here who would walk you throught it
