Magic mushrooms 'alarm' Dec 9 2003
COMMUNITY leaders are fearful that children are cooking and eating a hallucinatory fungi known as "magic mushrooms" picked from a beauty spot.
The last meeting of the now disbanded Banstead Police and Community Liaison Group, held at Banstead police station, heard the fungi is growing in Nork Park.
But there were hints from some members of the group that the people who expressed their concern and demanded to know what the police could do about it were being alarmist.
And they were told that while the police had a duty to come down hard on drug dealing and use in the area, there was nothing they or community "nannies" could do if individuals of any age were seeking out the fungi to eat.
One group member said she would go and look for the "magic mushrooms" in Nork Paerk herself.
Nork Park, a swathe of former farmland, soccer pitches, parkland and woods, attracts large groups of youngsters at night and the weekends and there have been outbreaks of hooliganism.
Youngsters tossed a lighted firework in the cab of a car transporter in November.

I think the 'hooliginalism" gave it away.

i've noticed that almost every psilocybian mushroom related artical i've read uses the plural form "fungi" of the word fungus in a singular context. silly.
Quote:
One group member said she would go and look for the "magic mushrooms" in Nork Paerk herself.
and i bet she has no experience identifying mushrooms and wouldn't know a bolete from a liberty cap
what does she expect to accomplish, other than the usual alarmist practice of stomping on every wild mushroom she can find?

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.
