I picked some of these up early spring to help my seedlings grow before putting them out in the garden. These might work for outdoor grows if you can anchor them down.

Looks good for over-wintering; How much did it set you back? Might wanna take it over the the Culinary Arts, Gardening and Brewing forum.

Aw sweeet!
Got a friend who'd love to try this in local fields.
Do you need to pick a sheltered spot with regards to rain?

I know this threads hella old but I think it would be useful to get it going again... Maybe some pics if anyones got them?
I buried some old shoe boxes a few weeks ago. its been fairly warm since (no freezing temps) and its been raining on and off with sunshine in-between. Should I mix my next ones with a block of coir or just straight into the ground? Any advice would be much appreciated!

If you feel like spending the coir it will help with moisture. I used to pitch mine into the compost near the top where its not overly wet but doesnt dry out too badly.

Nothing ever came of the last ones I put in the ground, I think it was too dry... I picked a bad spot that was in sun most of the day.
Next time I'm going to dig a hole and mix with a brick of coir with them in a shady spot and keep it moist.
