I have contamed subs buried all over my yard, usually under some brush for shade but nothing has popped up yet. It maybe because they're all pe. Although I have a contaminated tray of pe that has given me 130 wet grams in the past 3 days and is still pushing out fruits. They're not as dense as the ones growing inside where the temperature is lower. On the other hand, the outside trays are exposed to a lot more FAE and I'm sure the humidty outside the tray has been high because of all the rain which I'm sure helps. Another thing I noticed in the trays was that the trich infection has completely disappeared.

Probably because not everyone has the needs, or resources to grow outside:shrug:

seems like growing outside would be easier. just put colonized substrate out. put dirt or compost or really anything over it. watch it grow. Seems that simple to me.

First time posting! Plus gotta start posting so no guillotines please
I wanted to plant a spent cake outside with a mix of BRF and vermiculite an inch deep. Good enough?

Just crumble it up and bury it.

Long as its deep enough to where bugs and animals can't get it

Yep. Old/spent cakes, don't matter.
I have a small area outback I occasionally bury some old things in. First time I buried something it was like 3 or 4 grain jars that was contamd.

Got maybe .75oz from that patch later that year

I told you to pm me fool.

When you were saying your PC came broke:lol:

I came to find out it didn't come broke. It works perfectly. My problem was that I filled the PC with a little too much water. I filled it with like 6 inches or so of water when I should have done half of that.

It works perfectly and my jars are colonizing...all 6 of them(for now, im going to do more)..they literally took 3 weeks to show signs of colonization but now they are almost done. Its Penis Envy uncut.

I can't understand why so few people grow outside during the summer. I've been lucky enough to have had access to aged horse manure but that can't be the only thing that works.

Lots of people have used Black Kow and Bovung composted manure in tubs successfully. They're too gooey to use straight outdoors but some coir/verm/(perlite?) could fix that. You would be surprised how much cubes love the great outdoors.

I did my last outdoor grow to "prove" to my buddy that you couldn't grow cubes outdoors in NY state. It turned out that I was wrong:

That was the best crow I ever tasted.

please tell me how you did that

im in MA and I want to try it. Would right now be a good time of the year to try to grow something outdoors?

Would just putting spare compost/manure over the top help them do you reckon?

Leaves, grass, straw, hay, dirt, compost, sticks, rocks, even a tarp should work. It is that time of year after all.

Right on, mad. I'm about to spawn some pan cambo's to trays and let them fruit outside the same way the pe tray did. The only difference is 1) hopefully it doesn't contaminate like the pe and 2) I plan on spawning pan cam rice to hpoo and straw pellets instead of straight cased grains like the pe. It's been a bitch isolating this pan cambo from this nasty bacteria that hitched a ride via spore syringe. I'm almost positive I've left it behind but my fingers are still crossed.

Kizzle recommends people run a few transfers on antibacterial plates. It will help get rid of that nasty bacteria that hitches rides. I personally don't use any because I haven't had many bacterial issues, but it's always better to be safe. Just something to keep in mind.

Pretty shitty about your outdoor grow lol. They really should be more resistant to contamination. But hey at least your climate supports tropical outdoor grows :jealous:

No. You misunderstood. The pe tray was put outside because it did contaminate. The pan cambo tray is intentitionally being put outside because of how well the pe fruited out there, especially for 50/50+ cased oats. If I do end up with another bacterial infection in my grain, I will be purchasing some gentamecin next week.

I did misunderstand lol. Hells yeah man. Go for it then. Pans LOVE fae so if you can do it outdoors, that'd be most ideal.
