Outdoor Cube Bed Question

For those of you who like to grow outdoors in the summer - I thought I got my outdoor bed going way too late this year until I looked at the dates on the pics from my last outdoor cube grow:
 June 16 (inoculation day)
 July 16
 July 17
That's pretty incredible (at least to me) for one month, especially because I used less than two quarts of spawn. I got this year's bed (same substrate, same B+ strain) inoculated 7/14 and all appears well so far. I know there's a lot of variables to consider so I can't plan on a repeat performance this year. Previous grows seemed to have taken longer, but I don't really know because that was before I had access to a digital camera that records dates.
My question is: Did my last bed fruit exceptionally quickly? I was figuring on at least six weeks to fruiting this year. Is there a typical time range for outdoor beds to fruit?
One thing is for sure - I'll be watching closely starting the second week of July.

My beds always took between 10 days and 3 weeks

I wonder if you leave them grow out year after year, if they would eventually start coming up on their own? Anyone ever hear that happen for a species of mushroom that isn't native to that specific area?

Old horse manure.
And thanks maddchef - I'll keep my eyes peeled. I see lots of rhizomorphs under rocks in the bed. You don't see anything on the surface until one day, and then it's on. I just worry that constant heavy rains may have caused too much of the spawn to rot.

Did you follow a tek? How big was that area?

No Tek. I just spawned about eight half pint jars of grain to about 15 quarts of manure and let it sit undisturbed in a tub for three days. It fully colonized about one quarter of the manure, which I then mixed with about 60 quarts of manure in a bed. The only special care I took was to make sure all of the mycelium was spread evenly and covered.
The bed was a bit more than a square yard - one and one half? Think of a big 80 quart tub spread out 2"-4" deep.

My favorite outdoor beds have been with unpasteurized cow manure.

Mad props for your grow! I've been planning on starting my own outdoor B+ grow this is the bed I'm planning to use It's an old Palm tree stump the inside had turned into detritus I though it would be a great bed for spawning and fruiting what do you think?

It could work, but the rotten wood inside won't make a good substrate, if that's what you were thinking. You could scoop out the log and pour in your substrate/spawn though. You're using straw?
